My problem is that I can’t even install the rubber connector because the snorkel is hitting the backside of fender

Do you think the 3M tape will hold enough? I'm doing the snorkel this weekend, however not too sure about the whole tape thing.

Was your oval part of your snorkel touching or very close to the back side of the fender ?

mine filled the gap fine, it was a similar size gap. I'll have to remember to take a pic. I am sure I have already loaded pics in this thread somewhere.

I just remember trimming little by little to get it all fixed and hooked up. I spent 2 days just trying to get it all connected and def hacked up inside the engine bay to make the entering hole much bigger lol....hack job for sure.

cutting for 35s for me was more scary than this. There is a pilot hole drill bit on the hole saw, so its not that bad.

If the snorkel was made for the truck I wouldn’t care. I’m not scared just want someone who has done it before there.

Mine looks like such a hack under the snorkel lol. Especially the snorkel hole. You can’t actually see the crap cut at the front gap. The Black rtv should make it go away though

The hole saw made it easy. I had to cut up some more because my snorkel was a little too low.873B1C0E-E2B8-4BBB-A2B2-C6263ED541EC.jpg

Sorry dudes been super busy once the weather broke and this hell storm we just had doesn’t help any. I’m still down to help but it will most likely be mid June.

As far as All This rain jibber jabber the regular skewp is fine. The only time I see and signs of water in the air box is after aggressively driving through large body’s of water. Then it doesn’t matter if it’s the regular skewp or a precleaner it still gets in. But as far as rain I’ve drivin in some extremely heavy rains and nothing has gotten in. Do those running a knockoff snorkel I would recommend opening up the notches/slots a little because they are definitly narrower than the slots on the “safari” skoop. Also if you look at the skoop the snorkel tube itself is significantly narrower and goes up into the skoop pretty far leaving more than enough room for the insignificant amount of water that goes in driving in the rain, to pass through. Yellow arrow is the top of the tube and you can also see the width difference. 1954E401-790D-4F85-B73A-311CA7D73A3C.jpg

How much of did you have left over when you chopped off the restriction? My snorkel, if I cut that bend off, will have almost no lip to attach a coupler on.
