there are, with some cool mines to check out. But you should know how to use a map to go dirt connection exploring. Getting to Laurel will be the only one you need to hit some highway for, and will need to cross a tiny bit of pavement to go from bodie to mono.

Mono to Bodie won't be an issue. The Humboldt-toyoibe NF office in Bridgeport has maps of the area, they are right on 395. (theres also a popular hot spring right behind that office. I caution using it though, what has been seen, cant be unseen...)

To get to Mammoth, you'll have to swing east and south of Mono, but Im not sure theres a connector. (I do have a great camp spot just SE of Mono if you want that info)

Sage Hen Summit. Theres a (very) small horse camp-rarely used tho- with a pit toilet. Its tucked away in some trees. Great site. But, if you venture on down another 1.5 miles, the views are much better. Its also a popular site, and FCFS, so you may have to default to the camp... This is from the view site, looking NW towards Mono and the easter ridge of the Sierra.

Sub'd to this thread like woah - great stuff. Planning to spend some time near Sierra City and hunt a southerly route past Bowman Lake to Lower Lindsey Lake in early June - anyone had a good look at the Bowman area yet this year?

There's something like Murphy's Law for hot springs - the nudes you see are never the nudes you wanted to see .

    I can deal with nudes.
I was expecting some grimey shit.

When were you thinking of making that trip?
I was planning memorial weekend but still kind of waiting for a hard confirmation from a buddy who would be showing us that side of sierras.
