OK, hmm I'm gonna have to try again. I slid it under my passenger seat and it was too tight to move seat back. I may end up mounting it behind rear seats with amp.

Do you have a link to the sub and box that you are referring to?

I bought mine from jet.com you can get the box and sub for $118. The price drops when you add em both to cart. Its $229 for amp, sub and box when you put all 3 in cart. $112 for amp $43 for box and $73 for sub

Thanks for the info. The box has a little too small of an internal volume for my needs, unfortunately. The dimensions do help with building my own, though!

Ha ya the box is super small and thats the only sub I could find to match the internal vol specs of the box....and thats the only box I could find to fit without plastic cutting.

Good luck on your build man!

Love the set up and looking to do the same! Do you think you could fit 2 of those boxes back there if you had removed the storage container on the driver side?

    Mall landscaping pin stripes.
Not without it poking your back seat passengers after you removed the plastic seat back or remove the plastic trim organizer. The box is 11" tall and 5 1/8 at that 11" height the seat wedges down to around 2.75 " at the top. It will stick out too far without removing something.

Well hell, I've read so many mixed reviews on the shallow all in one boxes that I'm pretty sure I won't be satisfied with those.

I really don't want to cut anything but it's looking like the only compromise.

This is the set up I am going to try too. Is it loud enough for you? Also do you think 2 boxes would fit if you removed the back storage?

I test fit this sub earlier today. While it will fit in the bin, it won’t allow the seat to latch.

It’s 24” wide I believe, so maybe? If you’re going through the hassle to remove the bins you have a lot of other options for 2 10’s...

Ok last post for a minute I swear. I’ve also been looking for an easy but inexpensive sub solution for my 16 DC. I keep coming across these:

    https://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-TS-SWX2002-Shallow-Mount-Pre-Loaded-Enclosure/dp/B01FR5HDZ2

And I was able to test fit one today that I found at a local shop:

    8DAB9316-7A4E-45EF-964C-7D85A8CAA232.jpg

It fits perfect, just drops in the bin and the seat latches no problem.

I’m planning on ordering one to start, and adding a second if I decide I need more, and putting both behind the passenger seats. Hell maybe even three eventually!

Would you guys aim the sub towards the seat or the cab wall? I’m thinking cab wall so I don’t have to use a grill or trim the panel...

I do think 2 boxes would fit...one on each side would work. Loud enough...well for me it is plenty loud I listen to a lot of old drum & bass and other jungle edm music. The 10" hits hard in the cab...bass doesnt travel like crazy outside of cab which is what I wanted.

I left mine front facing and stuffed little foam wedges between the speaker and that plastic lip...the sub would make this clipping sound when it hard and it was because the woofer was extending far enough to hit the plastic lip.

Parts arrived, mostly Amazon and eBay specials. Sub was $77 shipped on Prime, amp was on eBay for $88 shipped, and I found a kicker ck8 wiring kit new in box for $40 shipped. I also got an “add an amp” wiring kit from eBay for $20. Once I add some speaker wire to go from the amp to the sub I’ll be all-in at about $230.

    5D47E520-54F6-4205-A164-04827477B0C9.jpg

The amp is rated at 200w rms at 4 ohm and 300w rms at 2 ohm, so if I decide to add more bass later I can just run a second 8” in parallel and still have enough power. If I still need more, a third sub would fit but I’d want a 1 ohm stable mono amp to power it.

I also got a set of Subaru tweeters for my birthday last week and they have helped tremendously on the mids and highs. I also managed to get them on sale for $77 so my overall upgrade cost is right at $300, would have been closer to $400 at full retail. Hoping to get the sub and amp installed this weekend.

Any tuning tips for those planning on installing one in the near future?
