Is it me or are the prices on 1st Gens going back up a bit? That's more than I paid for my 01 DCSB 4x4 TRD SR5 a few years ago with less miles...

 

I'm not sure. Don't follow prices. They can ask whatever they want but it doesn't mean they'll get it.

 

It seems like even when in really bad shape they never sell for less than $5k. Ones going for the $7-8k range a couple years ago are now in the $8k+ range.

Yes. When I upgraded to 35s it was good for a day. I knew day 2 that I was going bigger. The double cab long bed is awesome but want a little better angles. So the 35s with a 2k to 4k miles are up for sale.

Maybe the recall frame swaps is part of it?
Not necessarily this one.

 

I should be happy with the 37s. The ones I'm getting are 37.5 or .6 true measurements so it should be what I'm looking for. Who knows... my head is a playground and I may end up with sas with 44s.

 

Maybe in some cases, however, most of the ones I've found for sale never had the frame swapped and are no longer covered (max coverage was 15 years). Many that I've found for sale up here are being sold because of rotting frames.

Truly good 1st Gens are getting hard to find and when you find one, you could get a few year newer 2nd Gen for not much more and sometimes less. There must be a lot of die hard 1st Gen lovers out there willing to really pay... Hell, there was an 04 DCSB that sold for nearly $30k (or something like that) a few months back (in Cali I think). It was in "new, never sold" condition with something like 6k on the clock. But still a 14 year old truck!... I love my 1st Gen and plan to never sell it but if offered double what it books, I'd have a hard time passing.

 

Does anyone know someone selling a tube bender and dies?
