My trick blue hood pin plates didn’t fare well from this spring’s adventures, swapped them with the SS ones the pins came with.

Also found my parking brake committed suicide, I was getting a metallic noise from the passenger rear wheel area and thought it was the pads, but took it apart and foUnd the parking brake shoes down to the metal. It looks like they aren’t centered anymore so maybe one of the springs gave up the ghost. Ordered all new shoes, springs, rotors, and slide pins and boots for the brake which are all dry rotted and not smooth anymore.

Hummm interesting. I’ve noticed my hood vibrates like crazy now so I can see that happening to me. You have me thinking now.

Interesting, didn’t know that was an option, I’ll look into those. The SS ones are super thin, not sure they will hold up either.

Yeah, I could watch the pin jiggling the whole time, but any tighter and I couldn't get the pin in.

What was the reason for pins in the first place? I had them on a 240sx that saw track time but never thought about them for my hood since it isn't carbon or fiberglass

Now I understand why some trucks hinge the front and pin the back. I might do it that way. Something for me to consider now. I’m all about function over looks anyhow.

Go back a few pages, no more latch with the new core. I would prefer not to have them, so far they are more of a PITA.

Cleaned up a few things this afternoon, finally put trim on my fenders, not sure if I like it, easy to pull off if I don’t.

    8E95FFEF-822D-4949-9FCD-D455489E1ABE.jpg

Then pulled my fogs and tucked the winch hook in the bumper. I had the full weight of the truck on the shackle a time or two the last trip from it sticking out so far, wish I had a pic. Much more streamline this way. May add some flush mounts on the same face the plate is on down the line.

Compressor wouldn't fire up a few weekends ago when I was trying to air up, pretty annoying but luckily there was a town 10 miles away with a compressor. Turned out the relay took a shit which was surprising, could hear the solenoid clicking but no juice flowing through it, swapped it out and all was well.

This past weekend ran Spring Creek, which is one of the gnarlier trails in CO IMO, got to use the winch for the first time on the first obstacle after I started sliding to the passenger side getting tippy, then had to winch @Night Eagle after he did the same thing but off to the driver side. Truck and winch did great.

Also broke my passenger tail light on the tree off to the right in the first pics/obstacle, as seen in the flex pic.

Pssh, one of the harder trails in Colorado... my sport handled it. Only had to have a jeep pull me through the narrow spot where both sliders hit. You guys couldn't do the bypass on the first obstacle?

Oh the bypass is there, but where’s the fun in that. Real question is did YOU take it?

Yeah, because where is the fun in attaching a rope to something and pushing a button?

Enough to make it a lot of fun!
The attempt of doing the climb before you have to pull the line and push the button. DUH! :angrygirl:

Oh. I attempted it. Without a locker there was no way I was making it up that wall. Especially with the sand at the bottom. A 5th gen 4Runner went ahead of us and made it to the top. Looked like somebody got lost in their nice 4Runner but turns out he was a alright guy. Had a locker so I wasn't too bummed that I couldn't make it up that climb. Wait a second, how did James not make it to the top locked front and rear?

There were a couple things went into him not making it up. The main issue was the bottom being dug out a lot which caused him to drag his ass hard.

:gossip: I made it up previously open/open, no excuses.

Both of us got off line and started sliding into tippy territory, might have been able to pull it off but winch was the safe answer.
