If you're running E rated tires then you're going to feel every bump in the road regardless of how nice your suspension setup is. Take her out on the dirt and air down and you'll be happy...if you wanted a nice plush street ride then you need street tires.

I’m thinking I rather add more weight in front like a winch to help out with the 650lb spring. It’s easier than having to swap coils

Agreed. I have an SOS Off Road Concepts aluminum streamline front, planning to get my winch soon. I also have sliders, which adds weight to my truck.

Also, as an FYI Old Man Emu "886" coils- their heaviest- are only 660lbs.

Here is one example of what your current rear set up should be able to do:

    Just my humble
Opinion... you’re going to spend more trying to make these work, springs, adjustments, alignments, etc, than if you just cut your losses and sell them, buy king and call it done. If you’re anything like me, making them work isn’t good enough and you’ll do all that work and still buy the kings. Just something to think about.

Hmmm good point. I just don’t want to buy kings and not be happy with the ride. But definitely something to think about

I hear that. Gotta find someone with em already and test them out. It’s not a cheap switch.

I will agree with you OP
I had an OME kit with 885s and 1/4 spacers and that was a much “smoother” ride than my icons (700 coils). I have alum front bumper, winch, full skids, sliders. And the first time my father road in my truck after I changed from OME to Icon (he didn’t know I swapped suspension) he asked why my truck was so rough and never said that with OME.

Granted I know 885 coils are like 590 vs 700 so def stiffer.

Op I did lower my threads (preload) down to like 2-2.5in of lift and it made them much better but def stiff. I prob should have got 650 coils

I lowered my threads today & I will be testing it out this weekend. Still thinking if I should add more weight to the truck or just switch to kings. Regardless I think having to “adjust” or add to an already expensive suspension to make it “work” for your liking is stupid. All my friends who ride in my truck say it does feel kind of rough compared to when I had oem bilsteins. Oem bilstein were super soft and plush.

Let’s just say I wasn’t impressed with the ride either when I got them and still am not 3 years later.
Actually have been getting quotes for another OME setup this week with the extended B110 Bilstein rears as i just likes the ride better and it costed me half as much before the icons.

    I like this thread..

plus 1 for the icons, they're loose in the bumps and tight in the corners.

Lol my driver side One leaked pretty soon after I got them...maybe less than 8000 miles. They were pretty responsive and told me to ship them back and they would rebuild under warranty. However it was almost the 1 year mark and honestly I didn’t have any time to take those suckers off and ship them back with nothing to put on so that never happened then.

Use the stiff springs as an excuse for a bumper and winch

Thanks for this thread. I'm learning a bit. I bought mine with a bracket lift. I know, I know. Trying to figure out what shocks and uca's to buy for future replacement. 6" lift btw. Feedback welcomed.
