I wonder if Sam will ever realize that I am the one calling in complaints.

Those garbage cans were a real eye sore!

I live two doors down from a friend of @AWilson013 and I recently added another story to my house, which partially blocked the view of said friend. But I did my best to design the addition to minimize that. I hope I was successful.

My boss is making the final call we aren’t dead set on anything. FWIW I’ll be flying in on the 31st at 10:40am. I’ll have the entire day to go anf check all the spots out. If it’s Renton you say I should be taking a look at I would.

Check out this map... You have to turn on the sounder and link light rail maps. Neighborhoods along those routs might work real well for you. https://www.soundtransit.org/Maps

Lol you definitely were successful. Even having the thought of minimizing the impact is more than most would do.

Traffic to and from Renton isn’t too bad outside of the morning and afternoon commute hours. Even then, I make it to the heart of the city in about 30 minutes in the morning, and home in about 45. I leave home at 6:40am and work at 4pm.

I get :frusty: when I go in the tacoma.watershed gate at 6am and make it to the pit at 7am. An hour of gravel roads each way, in/out from just the guard shack, turns a 8hr day into a 10hr company paid round trip, which includes a 6pack/4dr 7.3 powerstroke that packs 350g of red fuel.

I wouldn't give it up for the world unless there was health insurance to cover my son/family to go along with it. I see ~100+ animals a week, not to mention the collection of keys I've obtained that will get me from Puget sound to colville. Weyerhauser, plum Creek, hancock, whatershed a/b/c.

Tried to go out the Lester way from Tacoma shed today, @JimSnell there's over 10' of snow in those switch backs like you predicted. I got to about the intersection of the 54/5405 before I wasn't man enough to attempt the climb in a 10,000 crew cab crummy.

Did you get my IG about fortune Creek? :boink:

Too bad I can't drive my personal vehicle in. I should have brought you along last weekend for lowboy day.

I think I'm going to pass on opening/general deer season this year. Basically Oct 15-31 and concentrate on the late season buck hunt mid November.. tBH I see more shooters during late season that I do during general season. And they're just down right stupid towards the end of westside rut. I got my last buck hot off a does ass 2 days into late season.

You're just bias coming from Idaho. Mule deer are over rated, but for some reason glorified vs blacktail. Monster 3pt+ blacktail that put typical muleys to shame run amuk in 460. Now that you're settling in to the rim, I'll share a few closer spots you can explore. One is pretty close by. Its a mellow train grade hike and requires attention to position in reguards to private/public land. Good for elk or deer. That spot I showed you is a good late buck producer also. 44mag all the way. I've seen legal bucks taken or missed from there over the last 7yrs.

An unusually high amount of pinstriping.
When people find out that I've spent time in Tacoma's watershed they ask me what's it like. My comment is always, find 30 miles of washboard and potholed logging roads and drive it.

Sounds like when I tell people that I use dynamite/blow shit up at work and they want to know how cool it is. About as cool as a polar bears toe nails. If you've seen one, you've seen them all. The tacoma mainline is decent, we just resurfaced the 14-19.5 mile. AFM has 10 million board feet of lumber to haul out of there. The pit I'm in is at ~26mile and the last 6 miles past Lester junction turn off is fuuuuuuuuccccckkkkkkked. Should be done with my 5000yrd crushed rock quota Monday afternoon. 3hrs round trip to/from isn't bad when you're surrounded by nature and (typically) not another vehicle to be seen besides a log truck.

47.256105,-121.565752 is where I'm currently working. It's a big talus slide with an endless amount of rock. A guy could spend the rest of his life, and someone else's, attempting to crush that source.
