What's next...

What's next guys? Lake Cuyamaca came and went and it was a sucess IMO. Now let's plans something for the very distant future. I was thinking something on the 4th of July weekend. Any ideas from anyone? I remembered mentioning Big Bear Lake to someone at the Cuyamaca meet. Let's do some brain storming and come up with something, the weather is just going to get nicer guys.

 

Maybe something that's half way between SD and LA, and make it a SoCal Meet?

Big Bear is GREAT right now - in the last week I have done 2 trips and will be doing a w/e up there this upcoming w/e. There is something for everyone up there - it is killer, killer, killer!

 

Keep it in SD!!!

 

The Meets between LA and SD are called So Cal Mod Days as Chris' place.

I think Tri is right....lake meets are an SD thing and MOD Days are for all. But which lake now Tri? Any ideas? what about and Otay Lakes...IDK!

 

The lead on that trip was a guy that has been wheeling for ever. He was the founder of the Bullfrog trail out in Cougar Buttes. Some good folks - that day we did Dishpan Springs, White Mountain, John Bull and Gold Mountain. Talk about a day of wheeling! Amongst the group - I was a school bus compared to the other guys. One of the rigs was a $65k all pro fj.

 

All of the bypasses have been destroyed - boulders have been placed in a way that it would be impossible to do any of the bypasses. It was getting dangerous but very fun!

And you SD guys shouldn't be afraid of Big Bear - It is one of the best places to wheel with all kinds of trails.

Edit: On second thought - you guys do have some good malls don't you!

 

I don't know many lakes where we can park near the trucks like that and have our own spot. I say we try to hit up Santee again now that hopefully the rain is gone. And I say we try to do it not on a holiday weekend.

 

It's not that we're afraid but my lakes meet are more for kick back chill and grill and beer drinking and beer pong. That's why I'm trying to look for a new lake to party at

Have to agree with Tri. A holiday weekend would probably be very crowded and it might make it hard to find parking as a group.

 

Yeah that's true about a holiday weekend...would a none-holiday weekend in July be best? What if it's a lake we can just pull up to shore set up base camp? For the fisherman, it will make it easy for 'em and for everyone else they can grill and chill. The trucks will be close enough and parking wouldn't be too much of an issue (I hope). I just want to take advantage on this ngarly weather we're having...maybe for those who are down...make a weekend out of it and do some camping. Just a thought...what do sone of y'all think.

What about the lake next to CC? Anyone have any intel on that lake?
