    So you just popped the switch out and plugged that rear connector into it?

    Yep- I popped the oem usb/3mm plug back into the dash and zip tied it- freeing a slot for a switch.
    Because of that I was able to install my blue dual battery voltmeter. I then cut a whole in the trim and installed the dual battery controller left of it. Super clean.

    Can I use any of these parts to extend the oem switch to a new location? Basically I want to move the usb plug from below the hvac to the panel that is left of the steering wheel because I dislike it being above the cup holders. If not, then I'll considering putting it in the glove box.

    nice work.

    Wish they would have routed that USB port to under the center console where the Qi wireless charging pad is. Would make way more sense.

    Here's a link to a small switch (25x35mm) extension. https://www.amazon.com/Metra-AX-USB...F8&qid=1526763942&sr=8-15&keywords=Toyota+usb
    Just pop your oem port and relocate it behind the console with the extension going to the new location.

    It's just what I found with a quick search. I bought a round one for the console.

    I saw those, but I want to install it into an oem switch area so this looks like it would work

    As long as you have the small switch opening you're gtg. I didnt see one for the taller switches my '14 has left of the wheel.

    @Guapo Taco ,

    Sorry about the really delayed response to this, but can you provide a link to the volt meter/USB charger lower switch panel that you bought to do this? I'd like to put this in as well to help monitor the battery and have the USB port available. Thanks in advance.

    @Norsemanvike

    Voltmeter and add-a-circuit I used. I tapped into one of the spare cigarette lighter fuses as I only wanted it on when the vehicle was on. You can tap into a different fuse for always on.

    Thanks @bagleboy for the link. Got the part, tested it this morning and all works so now I will spend my Friday relocating the switch elsewhere.

    I've been looking for something close to this setup, glad I came across it!
    Basically I want an audio usb to stash an old iPod in the center console/arm rest and keep the OEM one as it is for my phone. Having a faster charger would be nice but the audio is the primary goal.

    I thought that the "Y" usb cables could support two audio devices but I'm seeing that's not the case.

    Also when I get in there I'm going to do something to knock down the intense blue light from the shift indicator. It's about the most annoying color possible and reflects in the side window....I thought that manufacturers stopped using that color a while ago.

    I'll probably be using the OP's system as well as it doesn't require any cutting into the center console.

    Did anone install, or could recommend some bolt style / lens LED's that I could use to illuminate the interior of the center console?
