Looks like you will catch a lot of wind going east west with your gear

Yea I wondered about that. So far not feeling it. We'll see what the MPG says. Can't be any worse than the dudes who run RTTs full-time. Plus I don't plan on having all that gear up there all the time, only when I'm going camping.

Forgive me if its already been covered but I figured asking here would be easier than combing through almost 500 pages of info,
How hard would it be to remove the rack for waxing once or twice a year?

Not hard you may just have to add silicon every time you take it off if you needed to drill at all. Other than that just a few bolts

I have waxed between/under the bars. I have skinnier hands and still hit my knuckles. If it were me I would probably remove some of the cross bars and wax and replace and repeat vs removing the whole rack to re silicone- either way!

My toprac for 6' shell came today. Also took about (less than) two weeks. I've run into an issue.

The crossbars they provide you with are 47"
My tracks on the shell are 43 1/16" apart on center.
The mounting feet are roughly 5" wide, so...
In order to line up the right way the feet hang over the edges of the bars (1/2" on both sides), which prevents me from properly attaching the side rail. Please help

The feet run parallel to the tracks and can slide them inboard or outboard to wherever you need them.

I think you missed the point of what I was saying. The edges of the feet extend past the ends of the crossbars, which prevents me from properly attaching the side rails

Here’s a couple options for you. Keep the mounting feet but flip them upside down. This should shorten the width of the part that mounts to the bars and perhaps give you clearance. I know you can only mount one bolt to the cross bars and there will be an unfilled hole on the track side, but it’s an option. The other option is here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/mounting-foot-alternative-for-toprac.503846/

I had the same issue. I figured the mounts would line up with my CabRac and they didn't but I had already put the rails on the topper. So I just flipped my mounts and it's worked for now.

I think what I'll end up doing is grinding the 1/2" that overhangs on each foot. As long as the heads of the carriage bolts aren't poking out it should allow me to attach the side rail which will cover the ground pieces. Wish I didn't have to do something like that to a brand new rack though.

Kings, 275/70/17, a few custom items, lots of Meso mods.
I sent them an email asking some questions before I purchase a few days ago and no reply. Must be busy with EXPO!
