Are you going to invite us to the memorial service for Old Faithful? You definitely got your dime out of that thing.

To each to his own... I’ve did this little thing for years, seems I’ve posted it, maybe not? I have trouble distinguishing between what I’ve said and what I’ve thought. Don’t believe me, ask my wife.... Well, I’m ten hours in, chugging along, average temps are 180* have rotated the meat. This thing definitely has some hot spots, I’ve blown threw the stall, no foil, getting a lil chub now....319FA93B-AF20-4B3F-9D75-0E1B37B1529D.jpg96AADF2C-A2E5-49C8-89EA-9ACCA791F7EC.jpg

On the BugAssualt thing I wanted one at one point but never pulled the trigger, so to speak. Does anyone notice the amount of flies attracted to a working smoker? I like to shoot them with rubber bands.... I’m quite efficient... I bet I killed almost 40 today. It sucks because I smoke on the back sanded brick patio. And we use the back patio door as our main entrance.

Aggravating, all little pieces Royal Oak Lump, had several large pieces at the top, this is bottom 1/2 of bag. May well be the last. Small enough they fall thru the bottom of the chimney and then thru the grate when poured into the kettle.
Glad I picked up a couple bags of Kingford in anticipation of this new kettle.

I've smoked meat sticks, sausage, Kielbasa, and summer sausage in both pork and venison varieties in a cold smoker. This thread makes me hungry AF.

You guys are doing some really nice smoking here.

Starting to rethink purchasing a propane Weber Genisis and go back to the simple old school BBQ Webers with charcoal.

I figured that out quick the first time I tried lump, from then on I just used the lump on top of briquettes to add heat and flavor. Don’t think I’ll buy another bag lol

That’s probably what I’ll end up doing as well.

Setting kettle up for an over night cook currently, wasn’t expecting to do this but no better time than the present. Guess we’ll cook lunch for the week... and dinner for tomorrow

I’m actually looking at getting rid of my Weber Genesis because I only ever use my Traeger anymore. A pellet smoker is the best of both worlds!
