Yep. Gotta learn Chinese. And I was looking at salinas some too. I mean I already drive 80 miles a day for work anyway here. Was just trying to stay close to her.

But fuck. Make $60-$70k here and pay $600-$700/month rent or make $60-$70k there and pay $1,500/2,000 month there lol

Tough choice. Just saying, lived there. Ain’t just housing that’s expensive. Lived in a hotter climate if ya will, and had $350+ a month electric bills in the summer.

Gas is more. State taxes. I could go on and on....again, don’t wanna be a downer. Just being honest.

    Bit of advice.

Don’t follow her. Make a long distance thing work. Focus on your career. Let her focus on hers. If it’s ment to be, the long distance relationship will grow and y’all will tie the knot.

I would consider this to be good advice. It's important to visit and make time for each other but uprooting your life and possiblyoutting yourself in a financially tricky situation for the sake of distance seems foolish. If you can make your money here wherr you're already established and not have to spend it all on just surviving then that means you can save for your future be it with her or just for yourself. Also in moving you would be so far away from your support system should anything happen that you would be truly on your own and that can be sad/scary for a lot of people.

I know the long distance will work. I just like to travel anyway and I'm ready to leave this place so I was looking at options.

Like going to work in cali or going to Kentucky has the same results. Either way I'm making money and away from home lol.

Like I have nothing planned after Kentucky so I might as well get close to her if that makes sense

Either way, I've realized that having debt and $600/month truck payments aren't cool. I'm not ready to buy a house or start a family and I'm already 24 which is pretty bad. I gotta get my shit together.

I dont wanna be "that guy" but fuck moving an uprooting your life and everything you have for a girlfriend... Yeah you might like her and thats cool but for all the options you listed the only "pro" in that list was being closer to her and seeing her alittle more, everything else was "con". Y'all arent going to be living together and depending on what kind of training and schooling/testing she's in you wont be seeing her everyday or even every weekend. So you'll be in a new state with stupid high cost of everything making roughly the same you are now and still not getting ahead in life on other aspects of your life that you mentioned you wanted to....

Now if yall were engaged or married and could live on base in housing or having housing allowance then it would be different but for right now man i'd stay were you're at and go visit her once a month and see how that goes. Half country moves and finding a new job arent the easiest things to do... my 2 cents though...

That's why I wanna take Kentucky money and pay off the rest of my debt including the tundra. Have no bills besides the cost of living wherever I go.

So I was just looking at jobs and places in cali for now to get an idea.

I'll be engaged by the end of the year tho :spy:

She will be stationed in Hawaii after. I'm sure she's gonna use Chinese in the real world pretty often :p

Hawaii would be the first place I'd fly to if I had time. The food over there looks amazing!

You’ve gotten some solid advice in the last couple pages, make sure you take it to heart. Rarely does chasing tail work well. Not dis’n the gf for any reason, but like was said, you need to make a move like that for ‘you’, otherwise it turns into a blame game against her. Not good.

End of the day though, your life, live it like you think best. Just think with the right head. :D

Haven’t you heard. There is a new revival. Traditional marriage and long lasting love are making a comeback.
