    Now if it'd just quit raining, I could get busy gutting my interior. It's already starting to get a bit wiffy. Hell, I might even leave the damn carpet out until after Richloam...just in case.

    Fair point. Tacos haven't ever been known for their stellar fuel economy. When I got the OGT, going from a 4WD ext cab F250 with a 7.5L/auto gas engine that weighed in at 7500lbs without the topper on it, I was thinking half the weight and about half the engine would get me a lot better gas mileage, and it does pretty much get about twice the mileage I was getting with short trips to the store and whatnot, but in the interstate it only gets about 6MPG better than that 460CID lead sled. Which is pretty damn sad if you think about it.

    It is pretty sad. You know what else is sad is the Ford is dumping all there cars after trumps undoing of the epa regs. Now I am not a tree hugger but I appreciate anything that makes my dollar go farther.

    Heard they are keeping the Mustang though and we should be getting the Bronco back in 2020. I just hope they didn't base it on the Ranger. Not terribly impressed with the new version of that one. However, if they designed it to directly compete for the Jeep market, it could be an exciting new option. But then I don't see that happening. For some reason, everyone but Jeep has it in their heads that people won't buy a vehicle with a solid front axle because of the ride. Well, you can't walk thirty yards down the street without tripping over a Jeep Wrangler. They are all over the place. These marketing guys need to pull their heads outa their arses and sink all the R&D money they are putting into new gizmos for their IFS front ends and spend it on how to make a straight axle ride as good as an IFS. They'd sell a lot more vehicles that way.

    Pack light hahaha. Not in my lifetime. You must have boys. I have 2 girls, although one is still baking, and a wife .

    You know what would be better than no car payments??? No MORTGAGE!!! Bought my house in 11 I refinance in 2014 to a 15 year note and my payment only went up 100. My finest financial decision I have made to date.

    It would be nice if they would stop with the tech stuff on the inside too. I mean 100k for a f350 come off it. The tech they are putting into these trucks are worth the hefty price tag.

    They are dumping the models that they are losing money on in the US. It has nothing to do with relaxing the mpg mandate. Smart business practice is what kept Ford from needing a taxpayer bailout.

    Agreed, but I can almost understand that. People like their creature comforts and the tech packages are selling points, where as I doubt if the average buyer probably gives a shit is it's IFS or a solid axle as long as it doesn't bounce their heads off the ceiling going over a speed bump, while the Off-Road enthusiast, would prefer a solid front axle more times than not. I'm betting a lot of the old issues they had with solid axles not riding or handling as well would go away with a well designed 3 or 4 link system with tuned coilovers as opposed to leaf springs or coil springs with separate shocks and radius arms.

    The biggest thing though they would need to do though would be to offer a stripped down Spartan package ditching all those creature comforts (except heat and A/C of course), appearance packages, and gizmos but loading it up with every off-road upgrade they have available to make a reasonably priced hardcore wheeler with maybe the only tech package that came standard being a GPS.
