Honestly, it's the bulbs themselves. First one I tried flickered. Ended up ordering from a different seller and it's fine. Both my dome and maps work without issue - including dimming. I'll dig through my Amazon purchases and see if I can find them for you. Stay tuned.

Tell me about it. The first owner put 250,000 miles on it within the first 3 years.

I just hit 95,000 on my PreRunner after 20 years. When I got it two years ago it was at 75,000.

OH that reminds me. I got the oil report from Blackstone on the 5-Lug. You wouldn't believe it.

It's bad. Very bad. They found Diesel in the oil.

I'm kidding, they didn't find anything bad. The engine is in great shape according to Blackstone.

Here's what the oil analysis on a 450,000 mile 5VZ-FE looks like.

So it looks like they have changed the design a bit. No longer a prime item either - so ymmv. Here is the link to the bulb and pics of the ones I installed back in April 2016.

Local gas station has 100 octane, mixed that with some 91 to get around 93.5. truck really likes that, like a lot.

    Sure, I'll PM you.

That sounds expensive. Gas just reached $4.00/Gallon here in San Francisco for Regular 87. Can't imagine what 91 costs.

I'm hoping to get it all going on Monday. Waiting for some misc parts in the mail. But I have my tank placement and pump placement. Have to find a place for the controller. I got the one that goes based off the MAF so I'll have to look at getting that dialed in I'm sure, bit it looks like for the most part the point at which the bypass valve closes is when the MAF is flowing around 44G/s so I just would have to find that on the duty cycle knob. I'm looking forward to being able to stab the throttle and not have it kill timing.

That blows, regular is 2.83 here and premium is either 3.00 or 2.98 depending haha. 100 isn't cheap but it's not as bad as 110, 3.87 a gallon. You guys pay a lot more for CaGas Lite™

If you solder one of these resistors to your existing bulb, it should take care of it. Just solder one wire to each of the poles of the bulb. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00PZYO11K/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Worked for my 2004. They now do all the functions. Also, it only takes doing this to the dome one, and it will cure the issues with the map lights as well.

Here's a map of the United States, as organized by highest gas prices.

Of course, California is the most expensive. Why is it so hard to be a car guy in this state?

Damn deep south is where it's at for gas price, although I suspect banjo prices rise which offsets the whole thing unfortunately.

AZ is pretty decent for gas, when I was in Flagstaff today it was even cheaper than PHX metro area. I just wish you could get 93 at the pump here, it was all over in WA and ID.
