I have a toytec ultimate lift and some 15" black steelies commin in the mail anyday now...i was plannin on runnin 33s, and found a deal on a set of 33/12.50/15 for 500 installed (nothin special as far as the tire goes, but itll last while i save up for a nice set), was wondering, the rims im getting have a 4" backspace, will that be good enough to fit 12.5 wide tire?

    I've lost track
I believe you want 4.5" back spacing. you could always use a spacer to set the new rims out a bit though if they're only 4"

i think im understanding backpacing wrong then...wouldnt a 4" backspace set the rim out more than a 4.5"? isnt back space the inches from the inner edge of the rim to the backside of where the lugs go through?

no no you understand it right. he is mistaken. you will be fine with the 4".

the smaller the back space the further out the center line of the tires will be from the frame.

A lift, some wheels, some tires, some performance, some cosmetic and then audio.
4" is plenty to clear 12.50.

ive got 33/12.5/15 on my truck with a 4'' backspace on the rims and it clears everything pretty much(minor trimming of course).
