The one thing I noticed, is the hood seems to flex a little at highway speeds, I thought I was seeing things, so when I parked, I took my finger and lightly pushed down on the hood and there is definitely a lot of flex. Anyone else notice that, or am I nitpicking? I don't have the scoop, just the regular hood.

Few threads around on warranty work where the underhood bracing needed to be re-glued, although I've not seen one in a while.

    Could be the issue.

I know my 16 Colorado had it going down hyw but it was normal for it. Never had issue with it. My new 18 pro I got after 6 weeks and 3400 miles is not issues. Yes on hyw it doesn't like to hold gears on any hills or inclines or wind for most part. I don't really have any issue with it to speak of. OV tune u can get which u can read about seems to fix all that from what everyone says. Mine seems to be much better than most post on transmission . I am averaging 19.6 overall mpg. Very happy.

Congrats on your new truck. I honestly don’t understand the complaints about shifting gears. I have a DCLB, yes it shifts when going uphill on the interstate, that is what an automatic is supposed to do.

I’ve driven manuals for 15 years. This is my first auto. I love it - drives just as I’d expect. I mean, if you don’t want it to automatically shift, buy a manual.

Either people on TW are crazy or a some people have actually gotten lemons, which sucks. This auto drives like every auto I’ve ever driven.

To OP, enjoy the truck and post some pics!

That was what I was trying to say in my post above a d didn't come out right. Mine shifts on some hills and stuff but I have no issues like others seem to have and like mine a lot. OP I think coming from a 13 if u liked it you will love the 18. I know I like this truck lot more than my colorado. Oh. I have had 3 tundra' s before I got my 16 colorado i traded.in after 56k miles and yes they are great. I no longer need the bigger truck and mpg is not even close to what I average now and this truck is.much more fun and easy to get around and love it

I do like it, but I'm a little annoyed that I made need some bodywork done to fix the hood flex, and I'm not looking forward to hearing all the excuses from the service advisor telling me it's normal! I didn't have this problem on my'13! I'm afraid to go to an automatic car wash!

Not to be rude, but I was talking about the hood flexing, I have no problem with the way the transmission shifts!

Barely turned 1000 miles on mine yesterday. My transmission will downshift to 4th and hold it longer than I’d like it to, even after cresting or going back downhill. Then it usually just stays in 5th while on the interstate.

They are Toyota Tacomas man. Not an ICON FJ 40, not an AEV Jeep, not a Singer Porsche. It's a $35K truck that they sold 200K of last year. They are fine, not breathtakingly amazing lol.
