Where to put Hideaway Subwoofer - Passenger or Driver Side ?

Debating where to put Kicker Hideaway Subwoofer

11HS8 or any other under the seat sub for that matter.
I can see the pros and cons of both but would like to hear from those who have done it.
Drivers side could become annoying after a while. Passenger side might not give the thump desired.
Just don't know.

 

You will have a remote volume control of the bass if its too much or too little. Anywhere else and you are missing out on the thump. If you feel your passenger should have thump, you should add a 2nd Sub.

P.S. There is more room under the driver seat compared to the pass side.

 

Sub’d. Would also like to hear from owners. Hopefully in a double cab.

Had one in an 01 access cab under the driver seat for a couple years and it was fantastic. Added perfect amount of bass and it doesn't vibrate the mess out of you if that's what youre talking about. Currently have an 03 double cab with the same setup. Id go driver side every time.

Anyone have a picture of their sub installed under a 2nd/3rd gen double cab seat?

 

JL Audio makes a box for a 10 behind the passenger cab seat. Mine sounds clear and thumps

 

Will not fit under passenger side front due to a cross member on that side but not drivers (3rd Gen). On the drivers side it is snug but will fit. I am not sure the purpose of the passenger side cross member or if it could be removed. That was my intended install but after finding the cross member I decided drivers side was better. For dbl cab many put it behind the rear seats.

Now as far as thump and getting annoying. When I first installed and was adjusting the remote I could get a heavy thump if I turned the gain up and it did become annoying on the drivers seat at high volume. Once I stopped playing around and dialed it in to my final setting and left it it isn’t as heavy on some songs but it is dialed in and I leave it alone. If you like your bass set to annoyance levels it will bother you under the drivers seat. At my normal bass setting and the music cranked I can rattle the rear window just a bit but it doesn’t bother me under my seat.
