I get it. But there’s few vehicles out there I could love more than mine.

I suggest that you do a thorough search about the hood. If it is not done right you can have a major mess on your hands....again a major mess. I almost bought an new Off Road. The truck was fresh off the transport. The hood adhesive had already broken loose. I passed. The folks in my dealer's service department claimed to have never heard of the problem. There are no TSB's on it. I think that a lot of folks are told that it is normal because of the lightweight metal that is used and just accept it as it is.

I don't think that you made a mistake at all. I've owned both previous generations, and the 17 is by far the best to me. The transmission performs exactly as it was designed to, and I'm happy with it. Don't worry about the haters, enjoy your new purchase.

Thank, I really like this truck too, but I'm a little put off by the fluttering hood! Can't wait to hear what dealership has to say when I bring it in! Hopefully I won't lose my 2 day old truck for weeks waiting for a repair!

What’s the major mess?!?! It’s just a hood brace don’t seem like it could cause a major anything.

Looks good and congratulations on the new truck!

Also, I just realized how much better the color matched rear bumpers look. My chrome bumpers are really bothering me. I will have to change them soon.

The "major mess" occurs when the repair is done incorrectly...dimples in the hood skin, mismatched paint, new hoods, paint blends into the fenders, long wait for parts, "do overs", etc.

When doing the repair, make sure the tech knows what he is doing and that he uses the right adhesive. Better still, make sure that the tech has done this exact repair before.

To the OP: You have a very nice truck.

Because of the hood flutter issue, I'm hoping I can have it resolved quickly without losing my truck for too long, and hopefully I won't get the run-around from the dealership, the truck is less then 3 days old and already I gotta deal with this!

OP, a little flutter in buffeting traffic on the highway is normal. Put your hood up and gently press outward on the hood near where the bracing is glued to the hood to see if any of the joints are broken or pulled partially free. A problem will be easy to spot. Don't freak out just yet. It's not Lupus

Come on man. I understand your concerns, but anytime you buy a new vehicle and have any issue, it's a dance with devil. When you have an older vehicle, a lot of these small nagging issues aren't even noticed or addressed. The hood on my 17 probably could be addressed, hell the hood on my wifes RAV4 definitely could. In the scheme of things it's not a big deal.
Just breathe dude, it will be ok.

A lot of us have issues but don't want to complain to much for fear of being banned. I am about to enter the diff recall for the second time. They fixed it once and they are going to fix it again. It's just seems to be the life with this truck. Btw 17 sr5 here.... my 07 sr5 was fluid and air filters only for 10 years and only had 2 issues with that truck.... clock spring and the top center bolt for the diff came loose. Go back and talk to the sales guy and have him look at it then both of you go to the service dept. together and see if there is a fix for it.
