One of the few dealers in my area with an SR 4x4 utility installs the PULSE break light which does exactly what it says - pulses the cab's brake light four times then goes solid. Thinking about having dealer not install that or remove it from the price (299 - not much either way, but very probably overpaying for it)

What do y'all think about pulsing brake lights?

Seriously- My drunk neighbors were out in their car with pulsing brake lights late the other night, cops came and arrested them for DUI and public indecency!

But I do like the idea for stop lights on bikes.

A dealership in my area installs those on every vehicle that shows up. I purposely avoided that dealer when buying my truck. I've seen them before, it looks like there is something wrong with the wiring in my opinion. Good to know they also charge $300 for something that costs $2.39.

Those are big in South East Asia. 1/4 vehicles have them

They are annoying and distracting to other drivers.

Definitely gets your attention and it's important over there. Driving is insane and basically no rules.

Since you're Pacific Northwest, betting that's Heartland Toyota in Bremerton? That happens to be the one I'm referring to.

Nope. It was one in Spokane. I hate when they start tearing into a new vehicle and messing with the wiring.

Those are technically illegal in Oregon. But I have seen a few vechiles with them installed.

Those kind of lights are good for grabbing someones attention behind you to tell them that you're slowing down. I've seen many cars with them and the light isn't annoying as long as it's just the third brake light and not all of them

and . . . don't forget about the disaster waiting to happen with the leaks after they screw with the seal on that cab light.

Older thread but just bought a Tacoma with this installed. I asked them to take it off the price since I didn’t want it. Does anyone know how to get to the unit and possibly uninstall?

Drop the head liner and uninstall from the back. Chances are they just spliced it into the wiring, so you'll have to splice it back together. It's a mild PITA.

What did you get ? if it has a LED light then it has to be accessed from the inside, but if it is one you can access from the outside, i would pull it and look there first.
could be under the dash, or under the trim sill piece, or behind the rear door pillar, on inside the head liner. you pick..

I got an OR, I will have to look in the sill first and go from there..although its not too big of a deal I mentally see my light flashing every time I step on the brakes.

Not sure why people dislike these, actually decrease the chance of being rear ended, I'll take it. Far from dangerous or a distraction. Many newish EU vehicles already come with them from the factory now. I unintentionally put led bulbs that did this in the tail/brake light bulbs of my other vehicle. 0 close calls with dipshits so far when sitting at a stop light in that vehicle.
