Hi, It’s not to difficult. I put layers of tape on all surrounding areas that I’m about to drill for protection just in case you slip with a tool. I measure a few times and double check everything before I drill the mounting holes.
It helps to have a decent Rivet Gun, and be prepared for the gun to walk on the final pull. I wrapped the 3/16th drill bit with a good layer of electric tape as a stop, with a 1/4” tip showing so you don’t drill through the Hood. You can also use drill stops. I used toyota touch-up paint on the drilled holes. Other than that you just need to take your time, and enjoy working on your Truck. :hattip:
Here’s a list of stuff you need to gather.

Stay away from Harbor Fright rivet guns. They tend to jam, leaving the gun attached to a half installed rivet. Then you have to break the rivet and drill it out.
If you want a free HF rivet gun, there is one in the vacant lot next door to me. That's where it landed after it broke the rivet in my tailgate.

You're right. I was getting anxious. I can order the Amazon one and still have it here in plenty of time for the GB...

They tend to have some "ok" tools. I don't know about their rivot guns, but similar tools (with multiple moving parts) they offer feel loose and not engineered very well. I buy their hand tools, trash pumps and an occasional generator. Other than that, not much.

Howdy Jim! Still holding up ok, I guess. Lots of changes at work making me rethink my trust in our leadership. Usual crap, we live by the Peter principal at my company.
