Extended the tongue on the glamper and installed a Lock n Roll hitch.

Next is fabbing a torage box to house the fridge mounted on the tongue with a 12v power supply

Well, if the road to the campsite is extremely muddy, maybe you wont have to camp in a mud covered trailer when you get there. That would require big mud flaps on tow vehicle as well I guess

That is a really well built setup there! I would have liked to have done something like that with my setup with having the drawer for storage, but with having the DC, not enough room. So had to go a different route with my little platform for my fridge as I also wanted to retain my 60 portion of the back seat.

    Thanks!

I believe I just did. So obviously I can.
    :D

But the link in my Sig does explain the teardrop.

As for the trip, it was our Mothers Day weekend trip for my wife. The kids came along and helped us celebrate with a couple of gourmet quality dinners. We were in George Washington National Forest outside of Buena Vista Virginia.

What more would you like to know?

Tow a trailer down a muddy gravelly road, you'll figure it out

Bingo! One trip we had to wash the trailer before we could even get in it to take a nap! The big mudflaps help a lot, not perfect, but we're working on a better option.

Thanks! I can't claim this as my own design as I've gotten ideas from other members showing off their access cab platforms, but that's why I love tw members sharing their ideas.

I mocked up the upper portion out of cardboard first to make sure it would clear the interior trim, door trim, seatbelt buckle etc. I traced it onto 1/2” plywood and cut it out with a jigsaw.

I measured the floor area and made the drawer enclosure separate then used wood glue along with small screws to strengthen it. I had to use two pieces of 1/2" plywood glued together for the bottom of the drawer enclosure so that the drawer itself would clear the plastic trim when you slid it out or you could use a 1" thick piece of wood, make feet extensions etc.

Then was the drawer itself. Same as building the drawer enclosure. Basically just measure the enclosure size and build the drawer accordingly to sit flush inside.

As far as bolting down I used the existing bolt holes left behind from the seat cushion removal. You will have to use a spacer to fill the gap if you use these holes. As a bonus if you had a factory installed center storage cubby, there is a metal bracket that is left with two welded nuts on it that I utilized for bolting down as well.

The top portion of the platform at it's longest dimensions is 33" side to side by 25" fwd to aft. The drawer enclosure area is 19 3/4" x 11.5" x 7". I have a low profile subwoofer under my seat so I did not make the drawer as large as I could have. With thicker plywood and more bolting down there is room to install a fridge slide, but I felt it was unnecessary and I wanted the recline room.

Looks like you have flexible solar panels on it but after reading your link (Excellent write-up:thumbsup:) I didn't see any info. I'd like to know what panels you used and how did you fix them to the trailer? :hattip:

Yeah. They are a new addition. Added them Saturday before our trip. They are self stick. You just peel a backing paper off as you stick them down. That are from Unlimited Solar (Amazon) part UFLX-100.

3/4" wood screws into the platform. It seems sturdy enough for my light to moderate offroading trips, but you can use thicker materials if you wish.

You guys should always be thinking about "Where is my stuff (fridge, boxes, knives, extinguishers) going to go in a rollover situation?"
If you think it can't happen to you on your wheeling trips, think again. I rolled my first 4runner in my parents back field.

shelf deal.jpg I made this, its steel with a wood and carpet platform. The tie downs are welded to the steel frame. The steel shelf frame mounts using the holes and bolts that the rear seat mounts too. I usually have my fridge in there, but now I need a new battery solution. (HELP) It can be removed in about 5 minutes and the rear seat put in its place.

Clearance underneath the plywood was the main issue. I think I will eventually replace them with machine screws with pronged t-nuts and loctite. Thanks for the insight.
