Bullshit. You’re confusing stealing IP with competition and innovation.

You really have no idea what you’re talking about. I’m not talking about socialism, but rather YOU making a personal decision to support US companies that provide jobs to US citizens opposed to buying direct knockoffs, which are in violation of patent laws, but our government cannot enforce. You’re incentivizing bad economic behavior- but keep on with your ‘Murica rhetoric because it will spell the end of us if it continues.

I don’t know about you guys, but I didn’t join TW to argue and start drama. If you have useful information to add to this thread, please feel free to join in on the conversation. But can we all just agree to let people do what they want to do with their money? The internet is no place to try to persuade someone of your opinions. I’d rather not start digital beef with any of you guys because I believe TW should be a place to help each other out, and i don’t want dumb personal beliefs to get in the way of that. So with this being my last comment on this topic, I respect everyone’s opinions even though I may not agree with them, but im choosing to end my side of this conversation to save everyone’s blood pressure and time.

Ok then I’ll say my piece.
Do what you want with your dollar, and buying knockoff Chinese products may be cheaper and make you feel good to save a buck, but also has serious long term economic impacts to our country over time. It is a personal decision to support US based businesses that employee Americans.
Like dieting, it’s not easy to do, and you can’t always do it, but it’s more mindset.

This case at hand, I would never buy this for these reasons and potential questionable quality. I know TacomaWorld moderation doesn’t want to be in the middle of this, but given how egregious this case is, I’d hope they’d consider what it means for thier paying vendors to be hocking direct knockoffs like this.

Its easy to blame the Chinese...all their doing is using our own system against us. They buy stock in America companies...stock that pays dividends...they use the dividends to buy treasury notes which raises the value of the dollar...making America goods more expensive. All legal thanks to our politicians that’s the problem!

That’s the part of capitalism we’ve fucked up. It’s also easy to “blame the politicians” and not accept citizen accountability. Who votes for these politicians?
Correction starts with education, voting with your dollar and... voting.

Yeah I hear ya...Americans vote with their signature every week signing their paychecks effectively endorsing private credit and bonding the money supply...when banks are allowed to fractionally lend on depositers money...they are creating money out of thin air and collecting interest payments on money that doesn’t even exist except on paper. JFK tried to abolish the fed look what happened to him.

Someone was telling me that their lights were made out of China as well, and then they just slap their brand name on it. Not bashing Cali raised but I assume everyone wants to know the truth? I think the only thing made in America is their Fab products.

If you like it because it's made in China good for you, if you don't like it boo hoo. You get what you pay for, it's one of the oldest saying in the books. You have to take a risk with anything you buy, there's no guarantee that the product will be perfect.

Cheap labor to make and save money is the route most people and business take. They're not thinking of Americas economy, they're trying to get their business out there the cheapest and fastest possible way. Not saying this is right or wrong. Just stating facts everyone knows but just doesn't think about.

How many things are actually made in America? Not just assembled in America. A lot of companies claim to be made in America, but all it is is assembling parts made elsewhere.

Are you claiming that is the case for switch pro? Or are you just spouting generalizations?
I don’t know the case for SwitchPro but there is a made in America logo right at the bottom. I suspect some components could be foreign sourced but at least its and American company doing some manufacturing and assembly. That’s american jobs. Like a said, you don’t have to go vegan to change your diet.

You should read up on the US’s loss of industrialization btw. Because we don’t make anything anymore, we have no trained workforce to rally behind if we ever wanted to again. Unless the government invests (with what?) ala Roosevelt era industrial jobs programs, we’ll never be able to afford to get it back because we’d have to train a new workforce. That too is a huge problem.

Having handled a Cali raised light, yes, it’s made in China, and basically a Ridgid knockoff you could source directly from Alibaba all day.

I'm talking in general, I know this is true for automotive and industrial. Sadly this happens in most countries, there's a giant industrial boom and then it crashes. It happened here in America, it happened in Japan, and there are more. The only way this will change is with either people being willing to pay more for a product that doesn't necessarily have a higher quality, or people here accept the fact that as an assembly worker you don't deserve the same pay as the engineer. But thanks to unions the latter won't happen.

Look at most of their recent products, they are all knock offs and coming out of China. I had some Cali Raised original items when they first started, the most recent stuff is crap. sorry/not sorry. Water gets in the pods, its just not as good as it was.

Just got mine yesterday. There is no indication or stamp of county of mfg. I have not installed or tested it yet, but the quality looks good. The machined aluminum parts are square, consistent, and anodized. The wire is not cheap crap, and the wire harness is crimped well. I'll post more after I test it.

Does the wiring look straight forward in terms of wiring to battery, accessories to distribution, etc?
