Looks like an optical illusion to me because the base trim of the letter is reflecting light. The first T is doing the same thing.

You're right. The two T's appear to be different sizes also.

So anyone have a source for the OEM pro grill? It looks like most of the dealers have caught on.

I went through cheapestfactoryparts.com and worked with Drew. First time I worked with them and it was a good experience. The price was $170.51 for the grille and $46.34 for the garnish. Gave Drew a VIN from an online 2018 Pro fro sale. The box shows it came from Yark Toyota in Maumee, OH (And originally from Toyota USA). Box has multiple labels for the 35180 part numbers and certified, grille inside is a 35170.. I also got the garnish which was correct. There was the obvious delay with the VIN verification, but it shipped a couple days after.
Drew was great to work with and responded to emails quickly.

You got to look again. It says you must provide a VIN. Do that online and go from there.

The first “T” and the “A” have a beveled background that is slightly a different color. The only part that I don’t like about it. With the knockoffs you have to put the letters on yourself and that is how they avoided the grille from actually saying “Toyota.”

The actual size of the letters is all the same though, so it’s just the background/outline. I’m going to try painting it to match so it doesn’t pop like that. In person though you can barely notice.

My mother works at a Toyota dealership and we tried everything to get a OEM (used a Pro VIN) but Toyota kept cancelling. They apparently don’t want to sell them because of the sensor height placement difference between the Pro and TRD models. They can’t warranty a different model that wasn’t originally created/calibrated that way off of the line.

They pulled it from eBay shortly after I purchased it. Seems like they crack down pretty quick.

I ordered my little China grill on eBay last and received a notice that it was pulled but mine had already shipped. Arrived last Wednesday. Installing it tomorrow.

I just got a OEM Pro Grill and Garnishment in on Thursday. I placed the ordered it six days ago on Sunday, $279 which is on the high side of prices that I've seen on the forums. It came from a dealer in California. You definitely want to get Pro VIN number before ordering. I failed on the first attempt at another dealer using my VIN. I found VIN on the web that was on a lot near by and was successful on the second attempt. I don't want to mention dealer's name as that may be how Toyota is forcing the "No longer for sale" messages. Just find a parts dealer online and try the part numbers. Part No. PT228-35180 grill and 53141-35060 garnish. I just installed my and tested the radar on the road and it worked great. It took less than an hour to install.

I did break a couple tabs on the old grill that a friend wants. The 17 grills where apparently all chrome and my 18 had chrome trim and with black interior. My suggestion when removing the old grill would be to start at one end and use fingers to push tabs in and out. The tabs broke on the black interior when I squashed them with a pair of pliers.

Ordered the garnish from an online dealer and just bought a grille on eBay from a local vendor. Scheduling for a pickup and will report back with how it is and quality. And the grille was less than $100 so worth a shot

Put my China grill on this morning. No real issue except releasing the chrome surround tabs. I think I broke most of them. And I lost a fucking push grommet. Looks killer though.
