Mine has been paid off since I paid cash new in 2010 when my 2000 Taco had the rust issues and was bought back. I still make a car payment- to myself (savings contribution set aside for new vehicle). 8 years later I have enough earmarked for a new truck but no need since my 2010 is still in awesome condition. Still miss the 2000 Taco, change is hard, lol

I bought this from CoPart, rebuilt it and sold my f150. What I sold the f150 for vs what I owed on it I paid for my Tacoma

Mine is paid for and I am now making "car payments" to a savings account. When it is time to buy another (though at 73 that is unlikely) the new one will be paid for. The only one making money on my financing is me.

I have always bought three to four year old vehicles. On used, I only have one regret purchase and it was the first year of a new generation Frontier, no more first years.

Sold my TDI Jetta back to VW (paid $24k, bought back at $22.3k after 3yr 50,000mi). Took that money and bought up with the Tacoma. Paid the rest of the $12koff in a year.

Best mod is paying the truck off. I have a buddy who leases a Jeep (Jeep people) and hopes his parents will buy it for him after the lease is up (he’s thirty something...) So Instead of saving his money to purchase the vehicle he is putting $600 bumpers on it, $600 winches, money on lights and junk when he could be saving that to buy the Jeep. If his parents end up not buying it for him (they’re no doing great) he’ll lose the Jeep and all the parts or have to figure out how to finance it.

Pay off the truck first. No debt is a good thing.

Planning to have my 17 TRD OR paid off next May if all goes well. Dumping money towards my student loans then the truck is next. Having $14k trade in towards the Taco helps as well.

Yup! We paid off my wife's student loans a few months ago, now it's time for mine. Plus we have a pretty good chunk of change in savings after selling our house.

We currently don't have children which has made it a lot easier to manage our debt.
