They are actually all 8". The non-elocks are called 8.4" mistakenly.

    Yes, it will.

I apologize if I confused you. All of the gears (diffs) measure 8" , but they are not all referred to as 8" gears. That's why you see all the aftermarket support refer to them as 8.4". I guess to eliminate confusion.

Diff is not smaller but Ring (as Ring and Pinion) is narrower on e-locked thus to make difference refereed to as 8" only.
BTW Truetrac is not a locker its a LSD. ;) So are you sure thats what your friend had ?

I think people call that posi track. one thing I would be carefull you have 09 which has VSC and ATRAC. I would call eaton if you can use it with those two. VSC and ATRAC work by applying brakes which means Truetrac is going to shift power to other side much more quickly and much more power then what open diff would do. You may want to check that, however I will be very interested when you do install and drive that. it could be a awesome configuration:)

I know I am a broken record but I have set up rears before (my family owned a repair shop and now distributes Auto and Truck parts)... I could get a deep discount but I use East Coast Gear Supply 'cause that is pretty much what they eat, drink and sleep! Set one up wrong and you have lost any savings.

Who or what is jegs ??
You can definitely fit there but big question is if that will make those electronic traction controls crazy. :)
It could, but until there is somebody with truetrac and 09+ traction control we will not know for sure.
My biggest concern would be that all those electronics are not pressure sensitive and they just put pressure on the brakes until the spinning wheel stops moving then let go then press again. that would make truetrac shift between sides with brute force. Low speeds, low torque should not be a big deal but at highway speeds that could send you towards the wall pretty quickly.
