    A hot engine and preparing for the Jeep Topless event, on Crystal Beach. :cool:

    I had to add a reinforcement bar, as I had suspected, to reduce deflection. Got that on yesterday. Test drove, and that sweet sound of spool rang music to my ears.

    I need to add a hing of some sort, due to the circular motion of the gate's arm, on the turbine housing. Currently, I am thinking the possibility of one of these two items. The rod coming out of the wastegate has little room to articulate, and not near enough for the amount of rotation of the gate on the turbine housing. It can get in a bind and lock the gate open.

    DSCF3270.jpg So does it look basically like this except your actuator is even further away from the turbo (more left in this pic)? I assume it is a push to actuate and pull to close the wastegate correct?

    Still hard for me to see exactly how the modified rod is routed and where the actuator is placed but you may be able to use the heim joint from your above picture and a single hinge similar to the one you posted but single hinge instead of a double hinge.

    Heim joint mounts to a bracket which is attached to one of the exhaust manifold bolts. The actuator rod goes through the heim joint. This is your guide.

    Then a single pivot as close to the heim guide as possible.

    Or you could do a clevis.

    That is effectively my plan. Ordered a 6mm rod end, and it has enough length to replace the current threaded portion. Then I have to do a minor modification to the jizmo I've created. Then ready for maximum PSI!!!!!

    That is basically the clevis I need, unless I have to make my own.

    I am envious of how simple that is. Placement just doesn't allow it. Sadly. Unless I want to cut out a massive hole in my fender well.

    Would you have tire clearance issues if you did? You could either use the hammer method for clearance, or cut the hole and make a sheet metal cover that bolts in place. That way it would be accessible later on if need be.
    Seeing how the stock actuator rod is oriented and then seeing yours, your actuator will have a huge lateral load if I am picturing it correctly.

    You're absolutely correct that it has huge load. :spy: This is why I added a triangulated reinforcement. When the rod end arrives, we'll see what all is necessary to make it work.

    Even before delving into that modification, Ill have to adjust the fuel map, just to be able to drive in boost. The wastegate is working properly to ~3 psi.( I only have a 7psi spring in there. )The AFR gauge is choking and begging to ease off of the throttle at only 3psi. Gauge is buried rich and the truck bogs heavily.

    All part throttle boost. Spools extremely easily.

    Trim the fueling, and then work on wastegate. If it opens that far to get caught in a bind.
