Anything to give the haters a real reason to be mad @dYL0n , I'm with @OVTune on this one it pisses me off when people who haven't even done something try to say some ignorant stuff about how people choose to spend their own money

My problem is not that OV tune is viable and a good product. How you spend your money is your business of course. If 25hp and different drivability is what you want, and $700 is what you want to spend, then go for it!

What I take exception with is how some of the guys who purchased the tune interject the tune as the answer to everything Tacoma related. Some people have real questions here, especially new guys who don't understand the vehicles like some of us do. Some are simple answers and some are complicated.
For example, a guy coming from a vehicle with low end torque:
First thing, he needs to know where the torque is with these trucks. He also needs to know the accelerator is not linear. If he still has issues, THEN OV tune could be an option for him. Some of the guys with OV tune are almost fanatical about it. That is the first thing they post when a guy has a question. They also don't understand a tune is not for everyone or even most people. A tune is for a very small group of owners, like tenths of a percent of all owners.
OV tune is not the answer to everything Tacoma related is what I am saying, just like rear disc brakes are not for everyone.

You think all of that helps a tundra make more power? A throttle body spacer? that is port and polished??

I would love to meet you on the street if you have an extra 300lbs, plus 33s with steelies, on your truck. You would be seeing tail lights.

For most vehicles that is accurate, the reason why we talk about the OVTune fanatically is because it was designed to maintain reliability of the truck. There is a reason Toyota itself is contracting @OVTune to tune their vehicles. OP did ask for a relatively inexpensive way to increase HP and the tune is a better option than exhausts for power, and apparently better even than a cold air intake for reliability . Never thought I'd be saying that but yeah, the OVtune increases reliability if anything, it has cleaned up users issues with misfires, as well as making the throttle considerably more linear as you pointed out, and giving more low down torque in particular. Sure, it's not a V8 swap but at his price point OP would surely be happiest with the tune over other options

Dude how are you gonna laugh you can't even read. I don't have a TB spacer, I have a ported and polished TB itself from a tundra which is 6mm oversized, and a port matched adapter plate which perfectly fits both the TB and intake manifold.

Understood. However, no matter if the tune did everything better and was free, and I know this is hard for some to comprehend, most people don't want to modify their trucks this way. Now, if OV tuned the truck for Toyota and it was how the truck was manufactured, then yes, people would love it. At that point, OV tune and Toyota become one manufacturer. That's my point.

you do realize the adapterplate is basically a throttle body spacer for your absolutely unnecessary "oversized" throttle body?

Do yourself a favor and learn how airflow into a fuel injected engine works.

As a side note, you are still bottle necking your "oversized" throttle body down to whatever the intake inlet allows.

I'm well aware of that. This engine has 4 cams. The cost to do all the "old school" mods would be exorbitant.

I don't understand why an affordable supercharger kit is not available. When the TRD kit was available for the 2gen,it was pretty much 6k after it was all said and done. 6k! For what,60-70hp? Crazy. If I were Vortech/Paxton I would come up with a kit for the Toyota V6's, basic kit at 6psi at around $3500. Sell like chili dogs after a night at the bars.

Supply and demand. No real demand so no supply. Sure, maybe a hundred or even a thousand will spend that, but not ten thousand owners will. Like why Toyota does not offer a truck below the SR model. No demand.

    Exactly.

ECU tunes will give you power. It shouldn’t be questioned if the SAME engine is on a Lexus with more power.

Some parts are debatable. But this was proven almost a year ago.

and... Done! https://drive.google.com/file/d/1v8EmU03szewx-dr46eYerfb_Rb8pSyFV/view?usp=sharing should be uploaded any minute. Had to load in google drive because .mp4 is not a supported TW upload file. It ended at 8.54 seconds, taking into account that for some reason there is a discrepancy between @dYL0n's speedometer and electronic speed gauge so I took the average of both where the speedo is clearly past 60 and the electronic gauge reads 58 mph. Since the electronic counter always skips 60 I counted 58 as one away from 60

P.S.: It is important to note at this point that the tune still has room for improvement in this area with custom tunes which will take into account additional available airflow with @dYL0n and I's flow mods, as well as the fact that typically one would not notice a 10% increase in power in 0-60. The fact that the two are approximately .3 seconds different is surprising, as the tune mainly makes driving a more pleasurable experience overall and gives you more torque when passing in gear. If we could run a 40-60 test in gear you would see a MUCH more dramatic difference between the two which is a much more 'real-world' sort of measurement
