Modified a gang box to fit under my bed cover to keep all my crap in. Mounted it so it can be removed in just a couple of minutes if I need to use the bed.

Alright doll-face, c'mon and bore me!
I was aware of that thread, but will admit to not having read all 127 pages. Looks like I'll have to set aside an evening... or two.

(There's so much great information on this site. Finding what you're interested in, however, is another matter.)

When I had the SSP, I was told that it would not work with an OBD2 splitter while something else was actively using the OBD2 link...has this changed and the SSP now works with a splitter?

Location varies, but based in Edmonton, Alberta.
    Vehicle:

Tuff Country 3" lift, BFG Baja Champion 285/70/R17, Unknown Nerf Bars, Diamond Back Tonneau, 800W internal cab mounted inverter, VHF radio, We-Boost 4GX, Ram Mount No-Drill Laptop Mount, Zac of All Trades rail mounts (FX and Hi-Lift), Weathertec floor mats, BLACKVUE 590 dash cam, @Calirasiedled Bed Accessory Mount, Sound deadening
Nice work. I've been looking at options for a job tool box in the back of the Taco, and they are all too tall to fit under the tonneau. By the looks of things, you cut off the feet? What height do you end up at with the feet off?

When you installed the anchors, are they just to the bed or were you able to anchor off of the frame or cross member?

    Jealous... now shopping online.

No footwell lights for the rear seats? ;)

You have a very impressive truck overall...easily one of my favs. More importantly, thank you for all of the great details on your mods!!:thumbsup:

I have four light bars, two under the front dash and two under the driver/passenger seats. I was going to install the ones under the seats towards the back of the seats facing backwards for the rear footwells but I decided to have all of the light towards the front footwells since I rarely have passengers in the back. You could also install additional lights under the backs of the seats or under the rear seat. If I want to be flooded with light and see the floorboards in the back better, I turn on the insanely bright white dome light. Even with how I currently have it, the map lights and front footwell lights still bleed into the back area more so than you can see in my photos.

Thanks for the praise! I really appreciate it! Especially given some of the super impressive trucks on here. I feel like my mods are much more modest and simpler but I like them! :D

I was also concerned with moisture. I didn't want to trap it. Probably worrying about nothing, but I used Stinger fast rings when I put my speakers in. It's foam that goes behind the magnet sandwiched between the door panel. It eliminates any possibility for rattling and pushes the sound into the cab. It was cheap too. They also go between the brackets and the door panel. Purchase based on your speaker size. Videos online for installation.

Thanks for the photos! Yes, that really does help. (How do you know what skills I have? I could be a complete doofus. :p )

If I would have bothered to read the whole 127 pages, I might have learned some other things. For instance, I purchased my set of 4 speakers via Amazon (from Creative Car Audio) and didn't even think about the mounting adapters that are shown in your photos (which is why people have been buying from Crutchfield, they throw in the electrical adapters, too). I figured "They say it takes 6x9"s in the front, 6" in the rear. Here's a set of 6x9s and 6s. These things have been standard for yeeeaaarrrrs." Not having seen the stock units yet, I didn't know the mounts were required.

Also, as an alternative to applying soundproofing to the doors skins, I purchased a set of baffles (looks like hats that go behind the speakers) to hopefully help the sound, keep it inside the cab, and maybe provide some weather protection. Had I read the whole thread I may have discovered that this won't work or is a bad idea for some reason. [shrug]

Very well, I will get some soundproofing. :tinfoilhat:

I will look into this and see what the difference is between this and the baffles I purchased. Thanks!
