Soooo went to detail her moms rav4. Fuckin covered in rail dust, like worse then I have ever seen in my life. She bought it off the showroom floor when we got the t4r 2 days ago. Took her dad with me back to the dealer. The body and paint guy looked at it and said that’s awful. Talked to the sales manager and they refunded them 500 bucks. The body shop guys said it’s gunna take a shop 2-3 days to clay it and remove it. So I stared on it, it’s coming along slowly. Between tonight and tomrorow il have it done. Here is a pic of under the drivers headlight before and after clar bar. @Bubbles check that pro over well.
Idk if it’s due to being white or what but I looked at other cars on the lot and they had rail dust but nothing like her moms car does. Il take some pics of the roof then. 7EC42CCA-6736-42C3-98B9-B5FBB457F010.jpg

It is. There's usually a dealer trade when this happens. A vehicle gets dropped and one picked up. I've done several when my brother was a dealership manager.

I'm glad you got something worked out.

he's not old enough to drink I don't think lol

Yowza, I had to google what that was. This will be my first brand new vehicle so its also likely why im miffed as well over it. I'll be sure to check it all over up and down inside and out. If I learned anything in my 15 years in the car business, its always know when to walk away. I am fully prepared to do so if it isn't to my satisfaction.

It might be common, but should be discussed prior.

You would think the dealer would check this kinda stuff during pre checks. I’m guessing it’s a rail issue with south east Toyota. The roof of her car looks like pokadots of Black specks on a white car. It’s insane.

Let me know if y’all see a MGM topper for a 2nd gen short bed for sale. Would prefer to have a slide window to open to the cab.

I'll keep my eyes peeled. I sold mine to a guy on CL, since none of the tacobro's wanted it.

It made a massive difference in how the truck drove. That weight was a killer to the power, felt so slow with it on, like 1st gen slow.

    Oh goodness
    Well that changes things.
Figured I would only really use it for family trips need somwhere to put all our luggage and the choc lab since the kids take up the back seat now.

Cheaper than buying a bigger truck or the wife a mini van just for those 3-4 trips a year

A summer trip would get too hot for the pup back there. A guy on here did some testing. I think he ended up running a temporary hose from an air vent.

Weird. Wasn't a spot of rail dust on my Scat Pack and it came all the way from Brampton, Ontario.
It's only had 2 good waxes on it in 2 yrs.

My buddy lives in St. Augustine (Vilano Beach) on the A1A. It really is a neat little beach town with a lot of history.

It’s a quality control issue. Either the south east Toyota or maybe that dealership in general? I walked the lot and found some minor spots on other white vehicles but nothing like hers. Even our white t4r had one small spot and I mean small on the roof and I find tooth combed it. Glad they made good on it for them though. I don’t mind fixing it.

This is the day I picked it up. I asked them not to hand wash it but it was damp in a few spots.
I suspect they just ran it thru a touchless or powerspray. I went over that thing with a magnifying glass I was so pissed.

It was clean, just no wax.
