I've gotten more compliments on my SR than any other truck I've ever had

Ive gotten a ton of compliments on my Tacoma SR utility, which is funny because it's the cheapest new vehicle I've ever owned. I've owned F150 Lariats, Z71's that were tricked out, and even several Toyota trucks. I mostly get them from kids 16-18 but I've gotten a lot from all ages to be honest. I haven't done a thing to it, it's stock just like the day it came off the lot. It's kind of funny because I want to say "do you realize how much this truck cost?" I guess I just never expected a stripped down truck to turn so many heads as this one has. I think it's the color (MGM) with the black bumpers that's doing it because it looks different than anything you see on the road around here. With the basic steel wheels it looks like an old school truck and you just don't see many simple new vehicles today.

Gotta love the beard! I had a black ‘17 sr utility. It is just an honest, basic truck.

 

I guess I've just been caught off guard in the month I've owned it. You wouldn't think an honest basic truck would turn heads and get attention. When I bought it I sure wasn't thinking "yeah, I'm gonna get a bunch of compliments on this!"

 

I had every intention of buying a DCSB SR in MGM...until I drove the access cab utility....couldn't justify the extra expense.

 

I’m a brand new SR owner as well. For my price range a SR 4x4 was my best option. I feel like it’s a blank slate, with the amazing aftermarket support I feel like I can customize to my tastes.

 

I just got a new SR as well, and for the cheaper price now, I could always upgrade to other things later to customize. I like it better than my old 2nd gen lol

 

Yep I had the classic choice of going with a TRD OR 4x2 or a SR 4x4. I feel like I can add the options on my SR easier then I can add 4x4 on a TRD.

 

It pays you to own it. So, what did you pay for it? (no shame)

Hey its a good looking truck. Most people, unless familiar with the options, really couldn't give a damn about all the bells and whistles you have.

 

Only mods so far is Weathertech floor liners because it came with carpet mats. Need to tint the windows because it's like riding in a fish bowl and no tint on your windows in South Carolina is not fun.
