I’ve tried adjusting my seat every way I can, but my knees keeps hurting from the uncomfortableness of the seat and position. I saw a couple threads about having padding added under the seat by the upholstery shop and adding spacers to raise it.

I’m going to order a padded seat cushion to see if it helps. Just to see if it’s a padding issue. FYI, my 2013 Honda Accord has very comfortable seats. So, I know something is not right with this Tacoma seat.

I’m interested to hear if anyone else has tried adding a cushion before committing to having padding added. And who has raised their seat somehow?

    Thanks,
    Kevin

Here is the cushion I’m planning on buying. Any other recommendations?

Tacoma seating position has always sucked. Too low and not enough adjustments. I wouldn’t mind raising my seat if there was a safe way to do that.

It gets better as you wear them down a bit... mine feel much more comfy than a new one now but it took 6 months

I have a problem with my coccyx literally being a PITA. Regular cushions don't get the job done. There needs to be a cutout so it is allowed room to sink below the level of my sit bones. Here are two options I use for airline seats and long distance car driving:

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B014F18ZGU/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FN0HZG4/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

On the second one, I cut out a portion for my coccyx to sink into. That cushion is thinner, easier to transport and more appropriate for my weight. The first one is really thick and would probably fit a heavier person better.

i have same issue and had my pro now 6 weeks. I have had it to the upholstery shop and just had 2nd trip yesterday trying something different. Only issue with the truck is the seat comfort. Love the truck big time other than this. I also have 2 sets of 1 in spacers and 1 set of adjustable 2 1/2 in spacers i got yesterday just to mess with also. I do not think i need them for me on driver side now and after getting it back yesterday it is mainly now the seat is hard and all pressure on my A**s that after 30 min if is sore on A**S. Im now going to live with it for a while as poster above said and see if it gets softer and breaks down some after few more weeks. Im already at 3800 miles so i put a lot of miles on. I have a seat pad and that dont work at all. Let us know if you find a cure but as stated many of us have this issue and i guess some have none which is amazing to me with my battle with the seats. I think it is short seat not adjustable and the way you also sit on the floor instead of what we are used too in other trucks and cars and SUVs.

I keep hitting my head getting in and the seat is just too high. I lean the seat back a little, which helps. Otherwise the roof line cuts off half of my field of view. I'm only 6'2". This is ridiculous.

I spend a lot of time on motorcycles/ bikes when not in my truck. The thing I've always found about new saddles is that they just take some time to get accustomed to and break in. After 20 years of half-ton Chevys, it took some adjusting to get back into a Toyota seat. I've got 38K on mine with several 1000+ mile days and it has grown on me.

oh. spacers can be ordered from 4 crawler offroad. Robert is great. At this time as u see my post earlier they really didn't help my issue with the seats. But I am trying everything!

yes they are had a 16 for 27 months and 56k miles. They are not great but are better than the Tacoma by far because position and adjustability. But if you want the looks and style and interior of the Tacoma which to me is much nicer looking you give up seat comfort and adjustability too. Toyota makes no since why they cant make the seats right and adjustable and comfortable. To me it is the biggest issue and seams to be something they can fix and make good.

I just ordered the top one and hope it helps. I was debating wondering between the two posted due to thickness and wondering if I should of did the 2nd one too. I weight about 190 but that low profile one might of been best. at least for $22 I will see if it makes a big enough difference to use or if I just got another $22 item to put on the shelf

Amazon has a return policy - certain number of days. I didn't use the thicker one on an airplane till months later. Past the return date.

go to an upholstery shop experienced in modifying auto seats. i did and for $200 i got the most uncomfortable seat I've ever owned to become the most comfortable seat i own and can drive for hours comfortably now. before i had 90 minutes max before my right leg gave out.
