The garnish protect the radar sensor and allows it to work properly. Check on the price of the millimeter radar sensor, you might change your mind about not running the garnish.

No garnish. I didn’t really understand the whole garnish thing when I picked up this grill. Another member said they fashioned something and secured it in there. I’ll do some digging.

I appreciate that! I have a zip tie in there now just tight enough to hold it but I don’t even think that’s necessary. It’s one of the lower middle holes and it’s not moving. I work close to a Toyota dealer and will pop over and grab one. If they don’t have them I’ll hit you up. Thank you!

Got an original PRO grille from a Toyota dealer. The part number on the box was 35180. The part number printed on the actual part was 35170. I thought that was weird. Evryething fit perfectly, and no errors or flaws in the TSS. It works the same as the factory OFF ROAD Grille, as far as I can tell.

If anybody wants an Off Road Grille, send me a message. We can work out a cheap deal. A couple broken tabs on the chrome trim otherwise in good shape.

The only difference between the 35180 and 35170, is the 180 has not garnish attached. Other than that, same grille. Thanks

How did you get the star fasteners to go on?

I bought a couple new ones from Ace Hardware for .15 cents each, pushed on with a socket. The grille, garnish, and TSS sensor were all very easy to install. Took about 30 minutes total.

I used a 3"x2" piece of kydex glued to the back of the grille(in front of the sensor) and that has been working great for almost 1200 miles, no PCS light. Not a fan of the $50-60 shiny, flat garnish piece.

Just getting ready to put on the pro Grill myself and was wondering how I was going to deal with that shiny piece. Was at the dealership a couple of days ago with my daughter, and she was looking at a Calvary blue Pro and absolutely loved it, except for that stupid shiny garnish!

So you called and spoke with the dealership and basically ordered over the phone? Provided them a pro vin from a pro that’s for sale in your area?

Well so far I’ve tried two places with two different vins (near me) and no luck. Trying #3 now.

Anyone here used the Cali raised faux grille?

Can you buy a aftermarket grille and it still work with TSS? Or would I have to go to a toyota dealership to get one?

No, ordering parts online and providing a vin. I’ve read other people doing it and being successful. Just have to find the right dealer / vin I guess. This is my last attempt.

Sure can. I got mine off eBay for $100 free shipping. You just need to get a piece of plastic to cover the two holes where the radar is. I used some extra kydex I had. It’s been almost 1200 miles since I’ve installed it and no PCS light, system still activates fine.

eBay has them for $100 free shipping. Just need to find the right auction/seller.

Do I need any adaptors or anything for install? Any TRD Pro tacoma grill with the insert for the TSS sensor works?
