Hey Texas Tacoma drivers... would you guys like to have a meed at South Padre Island and give these Southern Texans a show or what?

Sometime this summer either in June or July. Preferably on a weekend!!!

We can meet at the Port Isabell wal mart parking lot and drive over to the island in a "Tacoma Convoy" and turn some heads while we're at it.

We can drive down the SPI strip and down the beach, maybe do some surf fishing or have a surf fishing tournament while were at it. We can take bbq pits out there, hey its the beach.

Theres some hot chicks on the weekends out there guys!!!

Oh and dudes too, for you tacoma chicks!!! ;)

So the new time to meet will be 12 pm on that saturday.

So do you not live in the Valley anymore......or are you a truck driver that you're never home?

I know what you mean, because when I go home it's hard to make time for all my family and friends. The thing with me is that I love Port Mansfield and I try to squeeze a trip in there somehow. :D

well im free all summer, post up the dates that you guys are free. best bets would be june 25-27 (the last week of june. OR hey the 4th of july weekend, the have AWESOME FIREWORKS at the island. (but it will be packed) If we agree for the 4th of July you would have to get there in the morning or the previous day (much less traffic in the early morning (6-10 am)

or the last weekend of July if you guys prefer; july 31st.

I told a buddy of mine which has a jeep and is jealus of TW. He even asked if he could come along with me and not mention anything about his jeep.

Is there any way yall would be interested in meeting around Corpus? Since people are coming from Houston, and I would be driving from San Antonio, Corpus is kind of the same distance for everybody.

I'll stick to South Padre Island. :D

Just spread the word if you want to make it happen guys. I know I do.

If we get enought SPI goers we'll REALLY start planning before mid June as to what we'll do. But a Surf fishing tournament would be awesome, $5 to join the tournament, and who ever gets the biggest catch will get the pot.

Fishing regulations will apply of course. Such as catching limits, and catch and release.

Just bring up the ideas people....and we'll take it from there.

Rangers said that the conditions were bad for driving and they werent kidding. It was smooth until the 4x4 sign and then it got stupid. Last time we were out there it was like a sand highway it was so hard packed. There is a ton of seaweed and debris on the beach right now. The sand is like powder and I had to make all my own ruts after the first 10 miles. Why? Everyone else rode the shoreline all the way to avoid the deep sand. It was fun but definitley an ass kicker for my family and my truck. There were a few dangerous spots so definitely keep your speed to what your truck can handle. If your not 4x4 then do not attempt this trek without a few trucks to assist if needed. It took me over 2 hours to go the 60 miles down. I drove the shoreline back like a chump but saved a lot of time.

    Damage:

One Yellow Top Optima battery finally bit the dust. Thank god it happened at the visitor center on our way out and not on the beach. One stop at Auto Zone and $200 later I had a new one and was on my way.

The conditions were rough but we had a great time. The conditions are always changing so dont let this trip report scare you away. It was a blast and jumping whoops is always fun:D

Here is a pic that shows some vigilante Tacoma World members graffiti that I posed by.
