PETA to erect I-75 billboard honoring cow crash victims



People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, better known as PETA, plan on putting up a billboard near the Wade Green exit on Interstate 75 in honor of ten cows killed in a wreck there, according to a news release.

The sign will feature an image of a cow and the words "I'm ME, Not MEAT. See the Individual. Go Vegan."

A tractor trailer overturned there Thursday after its driver lost control before hitting a barrier at the end of a guard rail, investigators said. A total of 19 cows were on the truck, and the survivors were corralled onto another truck after causing traffic delays.

“Ten gentle cows died in this wreck, and those who survived were rounded up and taken to an auction before likely being strung upside-down and slaughtered,” said PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman in a statement. “PETA hopes to pay tribute to their too-short lives with a billboard urging motorists to prevent future suffering by keeping cows and all other animals off their plates.”

In addition to honoring the cow victims, PETA said it hopes to draw attention to farming and slaughtering practices it considers inhumane. The organization said in a statement the animals are often kept in cramped and unsanitary quarters and slaughtered while still conscious and able to feel pain.

 

Someone needs to set up a giant Weber kettle next to it proclaiming the victims' deliciousness.

 

Good opportunity for Longhorn or a burger place to buy a neighboring billboard.

"Come meat me at Longhorn..."

 

After the accident, I would suspect they'd be more prone to already being hamburger. "If you find a piece of rock or tire, your next burger is free!"

The memorial service was followed by immediately by a garlic, butter, and a salt/pepper rub.

 

There is a saying around here for ranchers: When livestock bruises, everyone loses.
None of that cow meat will be choice, prime or anything but hamburger. And poor hamburger at that.

 

I'm thinking Chick-fil-a should erect one of their "eat more chicken billboards" near by.

I won't go off like before.
But people need to wake up to some realities of abuse of children/people that's going on thru the world and right here in the US. And stop ignoring it. Imagine if it was your child.

I have a 14yo daughter and an 8yo son, that I watch like a hawk.

After traveling the world many times recently and over the years, I've learned human trafficking is a serious problem.

After a discussion about this subject, with a LEO I met and ATL Int'l, young "fair haired" boys bring the largest "bounty".

 

I've traveled it over many times myself.

The extent of this problem is far worse and deeper than people would ever wanna wrap their in the box minds around, most probably wouldn't believe.. They'd rather get back to their little reality, whatever that might be.

The "high levels/seats/organizations" that are wrapped up in this, should answer ones q's as to why a lot of this never gets "taken care of".

It's sickening, and pisses me off to no end.

I don't have any children. But I'd give my life to protect yours or someone else's.
