ha.... no. should be .hex or .bin files

you'll know it's a tune file if its the EXACT same size as your stock tune if you have one of those

That’s where my mind went when I thought of what you were thinking of.

I see the bin files but when I try to find them in p5flash nothing shows. Not sure if I need to wait to for Matt to send me specific ECU/TCU files for the licence on my truck.

I think you should wait. Patience. That’s just me though.

But again, I don’t know exactly how it works. Still waiting for my registry file. So I may be completely wrong. I just like to play it safe on this.

I was able to find the ECU files under "all files" not encrypted but when trying to flash it says there was a problem preparing selected file. Probably its corrupted...

Looks like I got to wait until mat sends me the files. I think they are encrypted for the licence.

So a question if it has not already been answered. I live in Houston Texas, gas octane grades offered, 87, 89, 93.
I have 1.04 and reflashed to 91 octane after filling tank with a half and half 87 and 93.
For future is that what I have to do? Then next question why 91 octane tune if 91 octane is not available I assume anywhere?

91 is just the minimum. You can use 92, 93, 100...but never less. Same goes for the 87 tune...you can fill it up with anything higher than 87, just never less than 87.

I didn’t read that, I just assumed it was implied to use power tools. Isn’t it always implied?

For those of you who have techstream installed via one of the links listed a couple days ago, How did you get around the registration? Did you buy a subscription? What did you choose as the inital settings Under User Type? Public User? It is wanting me to subscribe to TIS and asks for a key anytime I try do anything with it.

50% 87 and 50% 93 gives you an average of 90. I wouldn’t run the 91 tune with that ratio. Just my opinion, but too low an octane will cause knocking and possible engine damage. I realize it’s close, but I wouldn’t risk it.

Fill up with Premium, run it out, fill up with Premium again, go home and tune.

Did that. As soon as I selected the file to load it said it can open it. Guessing this new software needs encrypted ecu/tcu files as well.
