With all your headlight mods and upgrades, where did you find was the best place to mount your ballasts? I know your attention to detail is very high and you look for the best and cleanest installs.

I think he's using LEDs for everything though, so probably no ballast? But I should let him answer that I guess. I am curious to see what it looks like under the hood of that beast.

I think you may be right but he did run Morimoto HID's w/RX350 lenses on his first BHLM/Retro fit.

Yea his quads are LED but he did run RX350's with HID first I believe? Just trying to get a plan before mine arrive.

I wanted to keep them high up and out of the way as possible so I made a bracket and mounted them on the radiator support upright. Although these LED drivers are much smaller than traditional HID ballasts, you get the idea.

Just a bunch of dirt. No fender liners will do that:annoyed:

Been neglecting the Taco lately for project Dirt Grom. (Which is all done now!)

So I'm back to Taco mods. Spent the weekend ripping the interior apart to relocate cab light/inverter switch and install my MESO switch panel.

LOVE having all my switches in 1 spot. I got rid of the QI button, I never use it, and don't plan on it.

To the left of the steering column, I don't have any buttons or switches. So I'm making a custom double decker cubby hole to hold wallet, keys, etc. Much easier to put stuff there getting in/out of the truck.

Cable locked my Yeti so nobody walks off with it
    [IMG]

Next is some rear suspension love. I have King resis, OME Dakars, super bumpstops and extended lines to install. Maybe this weekend. Last, I need to get my ARB dual comp mounted.. I wanted to design my own bedside mount but I just don't have time at the moment. So I just bought the expedition essentials rear kit, so we'll see how it goes.

Thanks for the pic. Just want to do it correctly and not just zip tie in the corner somewhere.

You took the Grom apart again. What was done this time?

Dropped the engine, opened it up.
Installed a 5speed tranny, Forged Crank/rod, Ceramic internal bearings. Then Brembo front/rear brakes, CNC portmatched throttle body, standalone ECU, new seat, Ohlins front/rear suspension and some other goodies. It’s a beast now! (And a money pit)

IMO it's never a money pit if it's what you wanted and mostly if you enjoy it...:bikewhoops:

Great choice on the expedition essentials bedside cubby kit.

I'm surprised you went with LEDs, from what I've read (and there's plenty of debate) it sounds like they don't throw the light very far. But maybe the custom projector glass you got fixed that issue? I dunno.

Also curious what that yellow switch is for by the two fuse panels on that bracket you installed (and paint matched!)

The LED technologoy has come a long way in the past few years. There are still plenty of crappy LED bulbs out there that look bright but have no throw...but there are also good ones that are much better than OEM/halogen bulbs and rival HIDs.

He has high end LED projectors with built in bulbs specifically designed to that projector.
