Over the last few months I've been collecting parts to do a 4wd conversion on my 2006 Prerunner TRD Sport and last week I finally pulled the trigger on the project. I've been procrastinating on it since it's my daily driver and I got tired of stubbing my toe on the transfer case in the garage. After a few days and a few hiccups I'm finally finished. Hardest part was fabbing up the crossmember, center pipe and shifter location. Everything else was pretty straight forward. Thanks to Wyatt at RST, BlueTacoPA and a few others for their input and suggestions. 20180509_131813.jpg hc_1525893029048.jpg 20180515_134803.jpg 20180515_161901.jpg 20180512_120548.jpg 20180512_140244.jpg 20180308_181742.jpg

Nice work. How much did you need to trim the coin slot for the transfercase shifter?

I trimmed out the whole bottom of the coin slot. I'm gonna need to adjust the shifter down and to the right a little. My hand keeps hitting the shifter when I put it in drive.

So the shifter height was bugging me so I shortened it. Looks much better now. I have to heat it up with the torch and tilt it over a little cuz it's still interfering when I go in to drive. hc_1526512167183.jpg

Sweet. Glad to see another successful conversion. If I did it again, I would use the tcase adapter like you did. Swapping the trans was a pain. I still need a boot for my shifters.

Looks good. Those adapters are hard to come by nowadays. Lowrangeoffroad stopped making them for some reason.

I checked their website and don't see them there. I got mine on ebay but they don't have them either.

That's awesome!!! I am now beginning my 4x4 swap. I would like to see more pictures of your shifter set up to get an Idea on how to do it.

If you're using the adapter approach then the shifter is gonna come up right under the transmission shifter. I cut off the shifter about 1/2" from the bottom and welded a flat bar to it to offset the shifter. If you look at the shifter pic you can see the flatbar i welded. I twisted off the black piece on the shifter to bring the shifter height down 3 inches.

Great work! Do you have a ballpark of what it cost to complete the conversion?
