What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Yup that's how I did mine (or had it done I should say). Right before the first cat ideally.

 

@HamerMan be sure to post up your numbers when you get it installed, curious to see how they compare to mine. I know I'm still a little too lean.

Sweet. I’m torn as to how I wanna do it cause I have long tube headers that need to go in and that’s gonna require a shit load of fabrication. I may just pull the front cat, and weld the bung in on there and slap it back on for now. There only like 10$ right?

For sure man. I’m interested to see my numbers as well seeing as it’s a wide band gauge instead of narrow band. See how low the AFRs get and I’ll get to see my actual boost numbers.

Changing the Lightning Port on an iPhone 6s... geez Apple gets worse and worse every generation. They started gluing their damn screens to the phone, I had to get a heat gun to melt it to even take the screen assembly off.

Imagine if Toyota welded their valve covers to the engine blocks. Yeah.

Oh also I cleaned my MAF for the first time ever, didn't look dirty, but it gave me an opportunity to put a new oring on it I guess.

 

Hey @Speedytech7 I didn't get any nibbles in a thread I wrote about this. Does this look normal to you? I didn't find any play in the U-joint.

 

Yup both my trucks have done that a bit, cruiser does it too. There's some slop in the drivetrain by design, doesn't look too bad.

 

Thanks for weighing in. I guess I'll have to keep looking for the source of my Clunk sound.

 

What kind of clunk and when do you hear it. Can always come by if you want a second ear BTW

 

It happens sometimes when I lift my foot off the accelerator and begin to coast while in gear. Sometimes really gnarly sounding and other times doesn't happen at all. Definitely sounds like it's coming from the drive train and not the engine. I'll take you up on that offer to come by sometime.

 

And it's a clunk not a groaning type of sound? I had a groan on a diff that was wearing out and you could only hear it while coasting.
