It was literally the third factor in my decision on which type of Tacoma to get.
    1. 4x4 (snow)
    2. White (old 1st gen was white)
    3. Has moonroof (means not buying an AC)

No kidding about needing a rear window warning, I never accidently left it open in my access cabs but for some reason I do in the double cab.

I'm indifferent about a moonroof. I have one, but it was by no means a dealbreaker item for me. I rarely find myself using it.

I love the moonroof for the more open feel plus living in hot ass Tampa Bay I can crack the roof a can see from across the parking lot the heat escaping from the roof.

Man if this is true, I am very glad to have pulled the trigger on a Pro this year.

My wife and I have had terrible experiences with moon roofs. My wife went on a multi-day trip while I was deployed, and our RAV's moon roof shattered out of nowhere on the highway - it was too late for her to find a shop to fix it, so she had to deal with it, and on the way it started to rain! She had to stop by a walmart and tape plastic bags on the roof t keep the rain out...

After she got it fixed, a few weeks after I came back, the moon roof wouldnt retract all the way.. took it to a shop and we found out a twig somehow got wedged in the back so it was preventing it from retracting...After this we vowed we would never get a car with a moon roof - too much risk with very little reward for us.

When I was shopping for my taco, I wanted an OR with all the packages but without a moon roof - my dealer said it couldn't be done, so that sealed the deal for the Pro for me! If Pros really will all come with a moon roof now... I really have a great reason to never look back (or forward for a newer model!)

Blackout package - planned: black bed logos, black wheel vinyls, front seat window tint, tires.
I've had one in every car I've owned in the last 20 years (both mine and my wife's) and have never had one leak. Never.

I had a friend had to get a new '85 Z/28 replaced, they couldn't stop the tops from leaking. The replacement didn't have T tops.

They were cool when they didn't leak, but a bit of a pain to use, unlatch them, put them in a bag (don't drop it!) and strap them down in the back. Once the novelty wore off most guys I knew with T-tops rarely removed them.

Moon roof won't be available on 2019 Tacoma Pro, but JBL audio yes. 2019 Tundra Pro can be had with moon roof.

I have a moon roof on two other cars. Never used them really. My new taco, didn't come with one, and I think it's one less thing to worry about in terms of leaks and moving parts.

How tall are you? I'm 6'2", but I have a long torso and I don't fit under the moonroof. That's why I bought the Pro.

I never use the moonroof in my OR. Wish it did not have one honestly.

I learned to drive on my mom's car, a 1976 Firebird, black, with t-tops, an 8track player, and a CB radio. It looked just like the "Smokey and the Bandit" car, except no decal on the hood. Those t-tops were a huge pain in the ass and exactly as you just described them.

I'm 6'1: same long torso (Dad is 6'4" with 29" inseam!), with the moonroof I don't touch it unless I need a haircut.

It's awesome...and annoying. At 6'4 sitting straight up my spikey hair touches it...so I lean over a little and drive left handed and its a non issue...ball cap...non issue...hair product...issue. I really like all windows, roof and slide open...

I thought I remembered seeing that the TRD Pro for 2019 would have a sunroof. But if it doesn't, maybe a Pro will be in my future.

Is that hideous snorkel standard or an option?
