I actually think it's kind of funny that they're just completely ignoring GM in their ads. Maybe they figure a Toyota ad making fun of Chevy is good enough.

    Bah.
I think Monday would be the day that i'd be free to do it; Saturday I'm turkey hunting and I think Sunday we're having some of the GF's coworkers over for a BBQ.
I'll keep you posted, in case I'm wrong or something changes. Do you have signal up there? Is it worth PM-ing me your cell?

I think it's extremely smart that Ford isn't making fun of GM. GM did that and, like you said and pretty much anyone in the truck market has noticed, GM is not following suit. Attack ads are a poor marketing strategy, you never know when the idea you're attacking may end up being 'the way it's done' in the future. To be fair to GM, they did keep their bed and body as steel. They only changed the hinged components to make them lighter so they aren't eating crow as a main course, only a as a side dish.

I can't stand marketing campaigns that talk about why your product is so much better than their product. Just market me why I should buy your product, I'll be able to see the "real" downfalls of their product during my research.

I will say the new Chevy trucks look nice EXCEPT for one big thing! Look at that tailgate! What were they thinking??? That is terrible!

They just need to fill it with rubber and it will work as a bump stop.

Yeah, not a fan of the bump out that high up. I like the stamped tailgates on the 3rd gens, and the new 2018 F-150s, but that does not look good!

Have a link to any of that info on RP? I don't doubt you, just curious to see the info. I was considering trying Redline, since I use their gear oil.

I hope to never live to that day. I'd love a new Shelby GT350. V8, 6 speed manual transmission. Yippy!

As far as trucks go, that day is already here... There aren't any V8 stick shift pickups left. Only trucks I'm aware of that offer the option of a stick shift anymore are the Tacoma, Frontier and Ram 2500 Cummins.

    And the base model Colorado/Canyon.

But even for sports cars, the selection isn't what it used to be.

In a few years I'd love to get a Golf stickshift for daily commutes.

Oh cool. Are you in the cottage on Metallak Island? Or one of the tent sites on the shore?

Unless they buy a time machine. I'd never have had the experience if I hadn't bought one. My manny trannies have always been behind 2, 4, or 6 cylinders previously. :notsure:

The only downside is that it runs out of gears to shift through after 4.

Um I know bobistheoilguy.com has some then superoilcentral.com has some data too.
While these are sort of “sponsored tests” you notice the same few are at the top of each test. There was a double blind test done a year or so ago that RP really shit the bed on but I forgot the website i found it on. But if you search the oil forums you will see alot of random tests and while the Pennzoil, castrol, amsoil top products always tend to be at the top RP is always in the back half of those tested
