thanks for the feedback, yeah i did the install and was scratching my head about it. i got some extended thread lugnuts coming in so i’ll see how many turns i’ll get out of those. but probably gonna end up installing longer wheel studs just for piece of mind when running the new wheels

If your not gonna change your studs out you need to run an extended lug nut on aftermarket wheels on these trucks. I think mine are gorrila lugs20180523_103308.jpg

    Dude, that’s awesome! Seriously.
That is no doubt going to show up at some point on one of those Redneck ‘fixed’ websites! ; )

Yea, I think it's 3 or 4 more threads of grip on the stud

Just make sure you get the correct lug for the corresponding wheel. That is an acorn style lug where OEM lug is mag seat style.

yea, I thought he had aftermarket wheels. Hence my suggestion to get the Gorilla ET lugs. They have the tapered ends that allow them to get even farther down on the studs. Maybe I am wrong though. I am from time to time.

Yeah. I think he has the correct lugs, but someone who scrolls through and sees that lug pic for a longer studs and assumes that's for OEM. And that can ruin their wheels.

I think we might be talking about two different things here. I was referring to the original picture of the open lug nut not biting enough threads. I thought after I recommended the Gorilla ET lug nuts someone posted up a pic of what those look like. I use the exact same lug nut on my OEM studs and aftermarket wheels. It's the recommended setup by the wheel distributor. Or am I way off base here? :notsure:

No you have the right idea. You just don't want that "acorn" style for OEM wheels.

LOL, right, I concur with that completely. The tapered or "acorn" style will not seat on the wheel and you will have too much slop. Just didn't want anyone trying to learn being confused by what I was saying.

Yea, I stand fast. I think what you and I say to each other would be accepted by the Hawaiians you describe. At least the Hawaiians I remember.
