Modular Sleep System is your friend!

They are referring to the trip i told you about when we used those bear boxes and some propane heaters to thaw/dry our boots.

Still the only time ive put a beer in the fire ring to thaw/drink. Needed some hot dam

Not at the usual spot there isnt*

Down the trail by the cabins/bathroom there is. There was like 4ft of snow and we were all in 1 truck, so we decided to camp there instead of pushing deeper.

So your saying there's snow there still. Looks like everyone made it to here. This is more where I was referring to the boxes.Never camped this spot yet, always up the road.

No no, snow reference was about a trip years ago. No snow up there right now. No bear boxes at that lake either.

This. Having lugged a MSS around in my ruck for 6 years, it’s definitely a trade off. It’s warm. But for someone who’s 6’4”, yo day it’s tight, is an understatement.

MSS is definitely worth the money if you're using a bag. I've been in some pretty extreme weather conditions with it and it's worked great.

Im 6'3 and i still fit in my mss. But, im willing to sacrifice comfort for function. Idk of any "extreme condition" bag/bivy setups that arnt tight/mummy style.

That being said, i am looking at a 2 person "double wide" bag for when i sleep in the bed or my gf is with me.

Well if it's the summer, you could wear the mss like this:

    upload_2018-5-23_13-21-48.jpg

    1. unzipped patrol bag on left leg left arm
    2. unzipped intermediate bag on right leg and right arm
    3. stuff sack over your head for mosquitoes, and because i'm ugly
    4. bivvy over wet stuff.
But seriously, I just got a Big Agnes Buffalo Park with a sleeping pad or a quilt. Either option is pretty cheap.
