Changed mine for the 1st time at 31K miles. Yes - Denso on passenger side; NGK on drivers side. All of the plugs removed were gapped at .044 - .046. No difference in Denso/NGK gap. Maybe there would be more of a variation in gap if left in longer. I will spend less on beer and more on plugs.

I stopped at the dealer to buy new plugs last week. The parts guy was scratching his head all confused when he entered the info and it called for two different kinds of plugs for my truck haha...I guess he’s not a forum member.

you may want to try cleaning the throttle body and intake. you'd be surprised at the amount of buildup there is and you'll probably regain some lost power.

That's normal. The light comes on at about 18 gallons burned, so you are getting 16.7 MPG. My 07 manual has never done better than that. You might get 18 on an easy highway drive. Miles per tank is no way to measure fuel consumption unless you routinely run your truck dry and call AAA. 400 miles per tank equates to 18.6 MPG.

At 100k, you should clean the MAF and TB though.

    I got 18.6mpg highway when I was 100% stock. Now I get <15mpg after lift, 33's, etc.

I've tried both. Denso is the one.

I changed my spark plugs a couple weeks ago. Post-change the startup sounds weaker, or at least quieter. Is this good or bad? Everything went well and everything was torqued properly during install.

the starter is quieter or engine?

Changing plugs in most cases does not harm anything unless you put in plugs that were too long

By you mean the filter was dirty or the throttle body?

I went ahead and ordered throttle body and maf cleaner, but I didn’t check those. The air filter was dirty, and the intake section that gets the air from the fender well was dirty

Just curious since I'd commented on this thread and most here have went with Densos, has anyone had a new plug fail or have any issues after a spark plug change like a miss?

I changed my plugs two weekends ago and the Thursday following the change I had a couple of misses within a mile or so when I started driving. Then it happened again one time this week.

Each time it missed the engine was pretty much cold, the truck was upshifting as much as it could and throttle position was low. Once warmed up there are no issues at all, no power loss or any other issues that I've seen even when cold. I've checked the coil packs and the plugs going to the coil packs, everything is tight. I'm considering swapping plugs again but was curious if there is anything else I need to look at.

    Thank you for any input!

As for everyone wondering why there is a difference in part numbers for plugs, stuff like that, it is because the bank on the drivers side (I believe it is bank 2) tends to get hotter since the intake manifold rests above it. The solution from the factory to remedy this issue is to pull timing from that bank (especially cyl. 6) and douse the cylinders with additional fuel to compensate for the additional heat build up.

A properly tuned engine would allow both banks to run at similar cylinder head temperatures and utilize the most power possible.
