i was just in the states about a month ago and when i was in surprise az, there was a guy walking around with a six shooter on him. also in great falls mt there was a guy filling up his truck and he had a pistol in his holster and a rifle across the back window. do any of you guys do this? or do you really feel the need to do this? or do you do this just because you can?

I always have a firearm on me. When I do walk around armed, I keep my Rossi .357 mag in an Uncle Mikes Fanny Pack. I like to stay protected but I also do not want to make people nervous...

Lots of folks like to make fun of the paranoid right-winger that feels like he has to carry a gun all the time to make himself feel special.

UNTIL... he saves a life from a would be murderer.

I figure that most people who carry a gun in public are doing so legally, so I don't worry about them. I worry about the shady characters who have the guns that you DON'T see.

The only two places I dont carry are school (that may change this year) and when I work one of my jobs. I am always armed with some weapon though. I live by the boy scout motto "Be Prepared". Better to have....and having been over in the sandbox and knowing the threats that are out in society, I feel better knowing I'm not just a sheep in the flock. This may sound like I'm an over-patriotic Right wing nut job, but I still consider the oath I took when I joined up to be in effect untill I meet my Maker. "Protect and defend, against ALL enemies both foreign and domestic." Besides, the minute you refuse to excercise your rights is the same minute they will be taken.

it's a right that we must use, or we will lose it. We have to protect ourselves and our families.

ya i think its pretty cool that you guys can do that. i think it might be a good idea to have the same law here because if someone pulls a gun on you here you cant really do anything about it but if you guys get a gun pulled on you, you can defend yourselves.

Most all of the scum that have plans to do evil will not open carry.

Some law abiding citizens carry open because they do not wish to get a concealed carry permit I think that will change here in Arizona soon.
I prefer to carry concealed. Just my choice.

    Both methods have their advantages.

Ga just changed the laws so now it's legal to carry concealed in a restaurant that serves alcohol, aka a bar. Not sure how that's going to work out.

I'm thinking guns and alcohol isn't going to be the best mix.

I fully agree with the idea of always being prepared… And I am thankful everyday for the country I live in, the rights and freedoms I enjoy and for those that sacrifice in the service of this country. I say support those who would go in your place or soon the enemy you may face.... So let me say thanks Kinetic…

It will still be unlawful to be intoxicated and carrying concealed...But it is like any other aspect of society, some will adhere to the law and some won’t. IMO most who have permits to carry concealed have a greater respect for the law and personally I would rather have my pistol in my pocket walking out to my vehicle than have it locked in my truck when some dirtbag decides he’s looking for his next victim.
