But yes, a girl ran her nearly new Camry into a ditch full of water and it was locked and would not turn over, either way.

Hard to tell since the crank has so many uneven casting edges thoughout. I was also looking for signs of broken crank.

Well I'm about to call it a night but wish I knew what this is. Another member noticed it too. And is the piston hitting the crank weight??

I personally would pull the heads next they are going to have to come off no matter what the repair is at this point.

From another pic posted, looks like it was just an optimal delusion. What I saw was just the edge of the web.

Still looks off but who knows? Looks like its almost against main cap instead of between the weights :notsure:

straight shots of all of them close up in focus would be nice. That (#2) was an easy pull off.

    Well, tomorrow then.

I'm in Charleston, too. I'm following this adventure closely with a kind of morbid curiosity. You're way past my experience or comfort level with the teardown, so I can't offer any real help. What I can offer is to bring over some beer and cheer you on.

Will the crank try to turn at ALL yet just a little and then turn it right back? Everything looks good so far.

Yes, when they are all off, see if the crank is out of it's bind. If it is free, then put that back together snug. No need to push yourself too hard tonight. Unless you come across something bent, that bottom looks great. Bearings also.

You're about to get an answer or back at square one on what it is.

I use a broom stick to push pistons.
