    If that is the one that had 39 painted on, I would look very, very closely at it.
    I haven't seen a pic of it since upper pan came off.

    It's not a bearing.......I see nothing to indicate corrosion in the upper cylinders. If all the valves are up in their normal position (none look like they're stuck lower or 'open') then I'm still not ruling it out.

    Just because it's not a flood car doesn't mean it didn't suck water from somewhere. Or fuel. That'll do it also.

    I could be wrong and an image trick but that number 3 piston looks like it came down too far? Seems like too much of the skirt is showing. This might confirm @cruxofthebisquit suspicions that #3 rod is bent. Need good pic of that one if you can.

    Kid got drunk, thought his truck needed a drink and dumped his booze in it? Weirder things have happened.

    Well usually a seized engine shows the culprit by this point, but not always since the heads aren't off but he did camera them I think. This is his first engine and of course everything looks fine so far.

    It is my first engine. I put a camera down the plugs but I couldn’t see anything. It could have been just a low end scope I used or me being a rookie at it :notsure:

    @Loxsl Might be able to give you a hand. He's rebuilding the 2TR-FE but is pretty knowledgeable about engines.
    @Torspd as well.
    Maybe these guys can give you some idea beyond what's been discussed.

    I'm still betting the pistons are stuck in the cylinders from corrosion.

    I am still thinking a fuel wash on a cylinder ? and a piston is seized. just my .02 right now. I agree with @20tacoma17 at this point an Engine usually has shown the main issue by now. If I lived closer I would be right there with you on this one @Nickj67.

    Timing cover, not chain.

    @randd, as of the Tuesday picture, it had not been removed.

    @Nickj67 , you need to unbolt the timing cover.
