People typically only review things when they are really happy or really pissed. On top of that, most that are really happy are too busy enjoying whatever it is to review it!

Decide for yourself and take the good/bad with a grain of salt!

    Welcome to TW

You need to immediately bring that piece of junk to me for disposal. I will see to it that it is taken care of properly.

Seriously, while I prefer the my 2nd Gen, the 3rd Gen is a solid vehicle. Don't worry about it.

My 3rd generation is a great truck, but, if you asked me last year I would have said it was a pile! I was one of the poor schmuck's that took his 2016 in for routine maintenance only to have it impounded for three months for a tiny leek in the rear end. Toyota really screwed the pouch on that one. If it wasn't for my dealer bending over backwards and the fact that I drove a Dodge Ram, as a loaner and hated it, I might have traded in my Taco. Glad I kept it now, like I said great truck! Maybe that's the problem, those of us that do complain, forget to go back and say how we are feeling months after the problem is resolved?

It’s a fine vehicle, will last you long time. If you don’t like it down the road you can trade it won’t depreciate, much like others will still trade for more than what you owe.

Welcome to TW. As many have already said, you’ll find mostly complaints here for two primary reasons.

    1) It is human nature to complain, especially when you live in a society that is slowly being taught to feel entitled. First. World. Problems.

    2) Scrutinize the complaints. Many of them really aren’t complaints, but personal annoyances that don’t bother others. You’ll also realize folks don’t want give up on their Taco, just fix issue X and move on. We’re here for each other, to solve actual problems, physically offer a helping hand and provide experienced and insightful advice.

For me, I lurked here for a bit, saw the love the for the Taco that folks have, and went all in. I’m currently waiting on the factory to accept my order and I can’t wait to get my hands on it.

You read all the issues people are posting, but you don’t hear the other side of the story... all the owners that love and their Tacoma. Probably because they are too busy enjoying it to post negativity.

Welcome. No problems with mine. Mine issues that I found on here and dealer rectified (or in process thereof) loose U joint bolts, rear wheel well splash guard washers, glue on hood supports, missing paint/rusted outer surface rust right rear drum (replaced). Nothing major, no mechanical issues. I have owned 2 1st gens, 2nd gen and 3rd gen since May 1996. Won’t buy or even consider anything else. You’re Rx is a cold frothy beverage and relax

Just stay off of the forum. Enjoy your truck. If you have questions come back, get the answer and leave again. This is the only way to find the happiness that you're looking for.

If you didn't have complaints before the forum, there's nothing to worry about tbh. I was on the forum for a while before making my decision. I read all about how bad the auto is & blah blah blah. But my Mexican built taco hasn't had any of the issues I've read about. So enjoy

Every other vehicle specific forum is the same. People come here to either post problems or talk about mods. If your truck is running fine, who cares?

Yeah, I would buy my Tacoma again, its been a great little truck. I have the 2.7. It just needs better low end torque and it would be perfect. Ive owned mine for 2 years now.

I've been driving Toyota trucks continuously for 32 years, a couple of trucks were owned 12+ years each. I never knew I was supposed to hate them or worry about my choice in trucks until I joined TW.
