I want to so bad. Something always comes up, last time I was sitting waiting to go up and they canceled due to wind speeds

I did it once when I was about 18 with a group of friends and one of their parents. The first couple of times you are strapped to someone for safety. That's great, but, there is a point where you are out of the plane, while your instructor is still in it and you are just hanging with no control and waiting on the guy to jump. I have to say I was pretty scared for those 5-10 seconds and it felt like a few minutes. Just hanging out of a plane with no control and trusting someone you just met, and some gear you don't know anything about with your life had me second guessing my decision. At that point it was too late though and it was going to happen no matter what I wanted. After that it was an amazing rush for a bit, followed by a crotch chafing float down after the parachute when out. I am happy I did it, and don't regret it at all, but I probably won't do it again.

I just bought this thing called the 'ball buster' from The Chemical Guys and damn, that thing is sweet! I bought their wheel cleaner also but didn't use it because it's concentrated and I was just in a hurry to try the ball thing. It's for cleaning wheels and I bought it because I have a lot of tight spots on my wheels and they've never been cleaned it seemed. I spent a long time washing them by hand and didn't gain much ground. The front 2 polished up real nice in about 10 minutes with this attachment, worth every penny!

That sucks. I did my ankle in 2011 and got real lucky that it's basically the same. Maybe a bit more swollen than the other, but I've had no lasting impact. Since we're sharing X-rays...

Funny we talk about oil yesterday. The oil pressure sender for my cluster broke in the Vette this morning. It's an easy fix luckily. I have two options, remove the intake manifold and replace the sensor, or remove the plastic wiper cowl and cut a hole down through the body. I think I'm going to wait until next year to tackle that one. Dorman makes a knockoff of the GM LS6 intake which went on the 2001+ C5 and Z06 and is an upgrade to what I've got. If I'm taking it all apart, it may be worth just swapping it out and doing a once over on it. It's a fun car to drive, but I definitely overpaid for a car that wasn't as good as I thought it was condition-wise. Someday I'll go back to a Japanese halo car and all will be right in the world. Although with the rising prices of anything interesting, it will be a long, long time.

Do your research on the Dormon parts. I had a very bad time with their bearings for the Tacoma. It was a similar situation, part wasn’t expensive but it was a PITA to install. After 2 faulty parts, I went back to OEM.

I will. I saw a few reviews that said it was fair to middling compared to the OEM piece and an upgrade over what I had, but that was cursory, so I need to dig into it some more.

Do you have the LS1? The LS6 intake manifold was a popular upgrade for the LS1.

Yeah, mine's a 99. The 97-00 had the regular LS1 intake, the 01-04 had the LS6 intake even on the base LS1.

To be fair, my experience was with a carrier bearing. Dorman’s warranty was great, they just kept sending me new bearings but they aren’t fun to install since you have to disassemble the rear drive line.
It sounds like, since you’ll have everything apart, you might as well throw on the LS6 manifold. It’s only logical. Call it preventative maintenance really, it’s the responsible thing to do.

Yep. See how good my friend Mr. Incompetent Mechanic does. I think the lift is going in this weekend, so that's going to be fun, or something.

Chances are if your Detailer is any good it’s actually cleaner than when you bought it. Looks great from the pictures! What type of wax/sealent did you get?

If I recall, the front differential drain and fill take a hex.

True. I didn’t get a chance to ask him since I swapped cars with my wife and was at work while they were detailing it.
