I have seen several people selling their flip-pacs, camper shells, rtts, etc. to go to the GFC setup. Seems like they are really taking off.

Pubg is an adaptation of H1Z1. Pubg (PlayerUnknown's Battleground) is actually a guy's gamertag. PlayerUnknown created the "battleground" game type while he was playing H1Z1. It became such a popular hit, he had developers contact him and thus, PUBG became its own game.

 

and then Fortnite came along, and made a game they could manage, and update consistently, and added new features like building to change the battle royale gameplay....and have absolutely DOMINATED the gaming scene.

I can't say anything about Pubg or H1Z1, but the amount of success Fortnite has had sure says something.

Two types of people in the world right now, those that like Fortnite, and those that are wrong. hahaha

 

Does MMO gaming on PCs even exist anymore with fortnite being so dominant?

 

I really couldn't tell you. All i know is that Fortnite is killing it, and nothing is touching it anytime soon.

 

Morning guys. Today is my friday! Get my kids this weekend, so we shall see what we can get into. If any of you have an Xbox, I play Destiny 2 and PUBG, every now and then some zombies on COD.

 

I mainly play The Division on xbox but been known to play some online GTA V.

Fortnite was originally designed for teenagers, as an easier version of PUBG. I find it pretty bland.

I could write a long article on this, but instead I'll throw some numbers at you.


Blizzards last posted number of subscribers for World Of Warcraft was just over five million on just PC.

Fortnite best estimate posted around two million players currently playing over multiple devices.

 

lol "suck at gaming" is vague. if you're bad at fortnite you probably suck at building. if you're bad at pubg you probably suck at shooting. 2 different aspects, neither of which is the "end all be all of gaming". so your statement simply states you must be bad at Fortnite

Fortnite had over 3 million concurrent players one weekend. I know they definitely have more than two million playing, not sure where your numbers came from.

World of warcraft will always be a great game, but has lost what it used to be. Yeah a ton of folks still play it, but it's not on the big scene anymore.

 

Being a player of both and actually enjoying both, I can believe this 100% though. As I have told Scotty numerous times, my first thought when seeing someone is to shoot them in the face, not build....hence why my skills on PUBG are far better than my skills on Fortnite!

The other stats are not surprising at all either. I can think of 5 people off the top of my head that literally either failed out of college and having a full ride, lost their jobs, and lost their marriages due to WOW. I can gladly say I never played it but I have played other games that have felt like they had somewhat control of me while I played it...needless to say, I no longer play those games.

 

Two million was the last estimate by the company who makes fortnite. Not a guess.

I don't play fortnite as it's to easy. I find easy games booring. PUBG is certainly more if a challenge than fortnite, but still to easy. I have been playing shooters for 25 years. Your statement simply states that I made your butt hurt.



WOW isn't what it used to be, that is true, but it's just an example that pretty much all PC games out number any console or mobile game in players. Those who are crazy about gaming always go PC.

 

to use the argument that a game being designed for teenagers makes it not fun/good is just ridiculous. it's fine to say that you don't enjoy one or the other simply because you don't, but the demographic target has nothing to do with it. Call of Duty was designed for adults, and it's a garbage game with grade schoolers playing it nonstop.

Fortnite has building, and borderlands like graphics, and has made it BIG.

Pubg doesn't have building, and on anything but PC has shit graphics, and is Fortnite's little sister when it comes to success.

I've said if Pubg came to PS4 I'd probably play it, but I'd need the graphics to be better than Battlefield Vietnam I played on Windows 98, k thanks.
