So I've been doing some more reading up on suspension geometry because if I lift my truck I want to maintain or increase the amount of overall suspension travel distance.

"The added suspension travel delivers a more responsive, more controlled ride over rough terrain, and gives you the additional wheel-well clearance to use bigger, higher-performance off-road wheels and tires."

By the time you piece together some OME springs and Bills these Toytec/Eibach coilovers aren't much more.

Its my understanding the Bills on the tallest setting add a lot of preload and stiffen your ride much more than factory.

I'm curious as to why I don't see as much love for these coilovers considering what they have to offer.

Can’t answer your question but I have been looking at these for the wife’s T4R. Interested to see what others have to say about them.

i've used eibach in my Acura TL Type S before. It rode nice but i went to Koni Yellows with Eibach springs afterwards. perfect setup. but with my tacoma... I wanted to go with something that was familiar to it. so I went with bilstein 5100's.

I have had experience with that "Legendary Eibach Ride Quality" as well as with that "Legendary Eibach Spring Collapse" which is why I didn't go for them.

From what I’ve heard the Eibach coilovers are just another custom built version of the 5100, similar to how the Toyota TRD OR shocks are just another custom version of the Billistein 4600. That’s why the assembled prices are similar. They are very close to the same.

Sounds like everything else in this world. Source material gets made in China and then four other companies assemble and label differently across the country/world.

Last set of eibach shock absorbers I had apart were made by Sachs in germany, FWIW. They're okay, I just don't like how Eibach spec their valving for performance cars. I've never tried their truck shocks.

I was close to going with those. I ended up going with the OME 887/5100's. The 887/5100, with shocks on lowest setting, give a great ride add about 2 1/2" lift. I can't compare the two since I haven't tried the Eibach setup.

Wait, so even at the lowest setting you still get over a 2 inch lift with the Bills?

Yeah, the shock bodies look identical to the 5100s.

Yup. Specs are the same too. Either they are 5100s or a close copy by someone else.

I'm seeing what looks like a bit of a thicker weld on the bills vs the Toytec coilovers.

Yep, they look about the same but the 887/5100 gives a 2 1/2” lift and a great ride!
